Am I alone in thinking that Motty is one of the worst commentators going? Surely he should have retired years ago.

I always get the impression that Mark Lawrenson cant stand Motty either.

There was a moment in the first half where the fans were making some noise and Motty quips "I dont know if its just me but the new wembley seems to keep the crowd noise in better than the old wembley"

Lawrenson replies with: " No , its just you"

clappp

I just cant stand the stupid comments Motty comes out with and the way he raises his voice over a complete non-event such as an England throw in in the opposition half. He has got a career out of that game where he was caught up in in that blizzard with his big coat on. He clearly has no talent as a commentator. Oh and he needs his eyes testing too because he always sees things wrongly. Typical BBC employee.

Good points, well put. It's about time Motty hung up his camel hair coat that he bought of Del Boy and fucked off to Cornwall or somewhere to retire......

But Motson was right

The new Wembley does sound better, atmosphere wise than the old one.

Why do the bbc even employ Lawrenson to pontificate on England anyway? he's an Irishman remember  stpid

and Hansen, He's Scottish and is the FIRST "Pundit" they talk to when they go back to the studio, Does anyone English give a stuff what a Scotsman thinks of the English performance?

When watching the BBC I've learn to switch off from Motson, He's bloody awful and should have wrapped in years ago, Yes! Its a shame Barry Davies called it a day he was pretty good

All in all the BBC Commentry team is awful, Because the games Motty doesnt do Jonathan "Robot Wars" Pearce does instead and his co commentator is Mark Bright :uhoh: :uhoh:

The atmosphere was bound to sound great last night, England were playing their first game at the new wembley, plus we were playign Brazil.

You cant compare the old Wembley to the new one until you have two comparable 'atmospheres'. We will see if the new wembley is more noisy when the team play against Denmark or someone.

I havent been to the new Wembley yet, maybe you have but it didnt sound any different on the telly. Fantastic looking stadium tho! clappp

Motson + Lawrenson have developed into some pathetic double act, and its shit.

I disagree that Motson is over excitable, in fact since Lawrenson I'd say the opposite...'Lawro' is sooo negative its inflicted 'Motty', whereas in the past Motty would have striven to find a positive, now he always mentions a negative.

last night he said "its all going a bit like World Cup....blah blah...aimless passes" and lawro the ex-moustachioed c unt says "AGREE"

motty never used to be like that, he'd always be 'up' and try to give the despairing viewer a glimmer of hope no matter how Dyer the situation....

thats my thunks anyway
