America needs to always be in some form of conflict to keep the arms sales up, it was said Kennedy was assassinated as he was going to pull out of Vietnam.

The trouble in Vietnam started with the French and after they left the country was divided and South Vietnam had some American advisors…but flushed with his success in the Cuba crisis took involvement to a whole new level that accelerated the conflict.
The real trouble started then, courtesy of JFK.
