Was up in Glasgow on Wednesday for Depeche Mode gig and we got a taxi from hotel down to Hydro arena. Got talking to the driver about football and he says oh my English club are Hartlepool, needless to say I was very surprised at this! He said some of his friends got him into pools years ago and he gets down a few times a season, he even stands just along from where I do in Town end! Just thought it was a funny coincidence that of all the taxi drivers in Glasgow we got a pools fan!!

When I lived down in london I got taxi one day and whilst exchanging the usual "been a busy day?" "what tine do you finish" questions you feel obliged to ask in a taxi, the driver asks me what accent I had. After I told him Hartlepool he said he used to play for them in the late 70's. I thought he was taking the mick, but I searched his name when I could and it was him. Can't remember his name now as it was some 25-30 years ago but, yes, poolies are everywhere.

I phoned the London Transport Museum about a catalogue which was free back in the 80’s about some posters.
When the lady asked for my address she said her sister lives there, Seaton it turned out.
Recently we stopped in a pub/hotel near Rothbury and the lady showing us around the place asked where we where from and told her Hartlepool and she asked whereabouts in Hartlepool because her mother still lives in Elwick Road and she was born in the town.
Small world really.

I was in Australia years ago and was in a pub when this loud mouth rocked up, it turned out it was neil morrisey from men behaving badly, was actually a sound guy once we got talking to him. He said where you from? I said Hartlepool, oh your a monkeyhanger, i said yeah, he said my mate that lives over in aus is a monkeyhanger too, apparently neil morrisey was seeing a lass from Yarm around about the time we met as well.

A group of us went into the pub at Tally Ho corner in London. We ordered drinks and the barmaid asked where we were from. She said she used to live in Catty Road.
Nice tits as i recall.

There is a Hungarian fella I work with. He's in Budapest and I was in a meeting with him one time. As I shared my screen, he spotted that I had been reading an article on the Pools site. He mentioned that he chose Hartlepool some years ago when he played one of the Football Manager computer games. The good news is that we won the Champions League.

I was stationed at Woolwich Arsenal in 1972 and was wearing a Pools wool scarf and Pools metal badge on the tube on a Saturday and a load of Millwall fans got off and confronted me and when they saw the team I support they stood back and said something like hey man good on you. We know about Hartlepool FC they have escaped after that run. What they were referring to was the fact that Pools were on a run that would win us 11 out of the last 19 games to escape re-election when at one time we were 7 points behind and dead and buried. Remember in those days it was 2 points for a win. Thought my time had come but that day I will never forget. Apparently they had battled previously with either West Ham United or some other London outfit.

Was visiting a relative in a pre 2000 Dubai when i was a kid - so basically still a sandpit and not a wash with Scouse drug dealers.

Came out of a Hotel on the busy main road - my uncle flags a taxi down in what was probably the most Artlepooool way he would of at the time.
Big cockney Geezer behind us "you Monkey Hangers get bloody everywhere" , shocked and puzzled to how he managed to decipher our specific twang amongst the usual Geordie we get tarred with. He said he had been working out there for some time and a load of Poolies and Teessiders where working there with him. Some how managed to take a fancy to Pools aswell so we all stood and chatted for a while.
