He did great to get Grimsby straight back up out of the NL at the first attempt.

So he wont be coming anywhere near Hartlepool. Who cares, there'll be loads of potential managers braying on Raj's door. Anyway, he'll probably just leave it to Sweens for now.

Well we’ll have the ‘joint favourite’ that loses, other clubs seem able to pick ok managers, this way it saves all the paperwork nonsense.

like it or not our last three appointments on paper were not bad ones. All have tasted some success in football. take away these injuries i still feel the managers are not our biggest problem. there seems to me that there is something rotten behind the scenes at pools and a complete change of culture is needed that i hope comes with new ownership thats needs to happen quickly.

If thats the case then lets hope the people in the know, Don,t give theses types a new contract.
Football is notorious for cliques.

I don’t know, I think like any manager you could say they were gambles. Askey seemed the best of the lot. Hartley had success with very large budgets in part time football with his 2 jobs at full time clubs being failures. Curle had come off the back of an awful job at Oldham and was known for playing a style of football that we weren’t really built for.
Agreed about there being something wrong behind the scenes though. I doubt we’ll see another Raj Singh permanent appointment if the rumours of him leaving in Feb are true.

if he thought things were bad after the crawley game a weak kneed defeat on saturday no matter what type of team is put out might put that at a much higher level. the vic could become a real cauldron of hate come 5 on saturday evening. so many are pissed off and cannot see a single glimmer of light at the end of this long tunnel of failures.

Does Raj still attend matches? If he is the subject of so much abuse why would he? If we lose at home to Oxford City on Sat, I reckon there'll be all hell to pay.

yes, think now so many have their own negative agendas as far a pools are concerned getting them all together could see carnage. unless we win it will be no place for the happy clapper and it could end up poolies v poolies quite easily if someone upsets someone. i have already got my ticket but wished i hadn,t as there is a real mixture around me where i sit from the happy clapper to the ones where nobody does anything right from losing the toss onwards.

Hurst would be good but cant see him coming here with the current turmoil - in fact who is going to come and respect that the current owner may be gone next month - the club with no new owners and himself being out of a job in coming weeks ? nailed on for Sweeney and Feaths to just take the reigns until the new owners come aboard.

Unless said new manager is told something in secret we all dont know and gives them the confidence to sign on

it could be the case for hurst to think which club is in less of a turmoil us or salford. like us they are not just losing unluckily by the odd goal they are getting hammered. unless some mystery money suddenly becomes available for recruitment we,ll struggle no matter who gets the job. as i have said on another topic at the moment all we,ll see is the new blokes shit replacing the shit previous managers brought in. we are certainly not going to be another stockport or wrexham no matter who is the owners.

Managers who can motivate are worth their weight in gold, And will get the best out of mediocre players.

I,m glad Askey got a crack at it, But fully understand he had to go.
His interviews were like watching the team on the pitch.

know his interviews were hardly inspiring but at least he said it as it was. better than one making things brighter than they actually were and left us thinking we must have been to a different game than them. if he brought a slight bit of humour into his interview i suppose it would be better but some would accusing him of not being bothered or not taking our situation seriously enough.

Not knocking Askey in the slightest he had a raw deal, Thats football.
Don,t think he helped himself by falling out with players, Could have maybe managed them better.

we do not know whether he did fall out with them or not apart from prutti. however looking at the effort put in yesterday by them all it does give some evidence to those who said he had lost the dressing room especially if this carries on more than just a few games.

JA upset the apple cart in the dressing room - i know this for fact.

he also ran out of ideas and didnt seem interested. Hence why he went.

Someone like Hurst would be good for us just now. He would have the contacts aswell should the cash be there. As he did this with Grimsby. Signed a few good players and worked with the decent players he had and they got back to where they needed to be!

I always got the impression he was like some soon to retire headmaster and there was his way or the Highway.
He didn’t come over as motivational, a bit distant and wasn’t for turning.

What fact would that be - your chat with Matty Dolan down the pub? Disgruntled player speaks ill of manager who won't pick him? Won't be long before Dolan is slagging off Lenny and Sweens as well

Id already known about the unrest in the dressing room before the chesterfield game in which Mancini went off would you believe. Some of the players didnt like JA the minute he came in. Again heard this from a reliable source whos around the lads at the training ground.
Matty just backed up what me and others already knew

This obsession with Fat and Dolan is begining to sound unhealthy, So i think we should leave it there.

Nice lady.. and to be fair she was always excellent with my barnet, and was always on about Fatty when I was in.
But for various reasons I moved on to another stylist, who was nowhere near as good tbh. :(

[quote="Eiphos_3"]JA upset the apple cart in the dressing room - i know this for fact.

he also ran out of ideas and didnt seem interested. Hence why he went.
looking at the shifts they put in on saturday i can believe that. add to a couple of players suddenly becomeing available for selection again it all adds up. i,ll give askey the prutti situation as there will always be some player who gets frozen out by a new manager and will happen to another when our permanent appointment gets his feet under the table. everytime sweens took over he also seemed to change the team from the previous managers one.

I could be wrong on this but, Some time after the oldham game away did Sweens do an interview
Where he said "we have make do with what we have" player wise, or words to that effect.

And then 1 signs and another on loan.
