Just a quick question. How long does it take for a PM to be sent? It's just that I've got one in my outbox but not in my sent and wondered how long it took to send once you've written it?

Should be more or less instantaneous. I'd delete it and try again if I were you.

Does it not go into the sentbox once the other person has opened it

No, Outbox is on your own computer, it means it never left, it's just waiting to leave for some reason. At least if it's the same as e-mail, and I'm sure it's the same principal. With e-mail you have to have a 'read notificaton' tag which is simply an automatic return e-mail if you want to know if it's been read.
