Play with 11 men behind the ball. Don’t give the opposing team any space. Win possession as quickly as possible and get 6 players in the box pressing their defenders. To counter the counter have 4 defenders on the half way line. If we lose the ball we fight like tigers to get it back and revert back to everyone behind the ball. Yes you got to be supremely fit to play like that but at least we will be playing in the offensive and solve the defensive.

Maybe we could forfeit the game, so we don't have to go through 90+12 anxious minutes of anxiety attacks. Better for everyone else's healt bbolt :text-imwithstupid: :text-lol:

I will just leave it for Askey to decide as he is the manager.

none of em will mate unless you have played the game at a good level and have more coaching badges than the head boy scout has. you are only a paying fan so know your place.

Askey is on to a hiding really whatever happens Saturday. Apparently loved at York. Won't be if Pools do the unimaginable. If Pools lose (laughing as I write this), our lot won't be happy. The knives will get just that little bit sharper after Saturday.

Sounds like a plan, not an especially cunning one but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. So yes, let’s park the firkin bus - do what friggin Chester did to us at the Vic, pull big Mani back to help the defence out with corners and free kicks into the box. Adopt a ‘we may not win but we’re not going to lose’ mentality- and maybe even catch the Munstermen on the break.

I think comedian is a bit strong - though wonder if JA addresses the players in team meetings with 'Hello Playmates!' sctatchinghead

Given the time of year, I did think Arfur Fowler from EastEnders - and was initially worried about the safety and whereabouts of the Christmas Club money box!

As Arthur would say, 'I thank yew!'

Lids should never have been permitted to leave, just one example of a sad procession of half decent players who have left the club for one reason or another over recent years - most of whom would walk into the current first choice side - nae bother.

Should never have been permitted to leave? How do you keep them if they want to go? It's worked with big Josh hasn't it?
If they don't want to play for us then f*ck off!

yes, the typical old away non league performance where we,ll make no friends but have a better chance of gaining points than making a game of it.

At one time it was 3-1 to shields, And Spenny had 2-3 really good chances. But thats football.
Shields well worth the win.
