I remember nicking in the Stock cars on a Sunday or sitting on the Museum wall watching them!!!! :sweeeet: :grin:

The Stock cars used to be a laugh. My dad had a Japanese family visiting us one day and we took them there and they couldn't believe that half the drivers were only about 12

i used to enjoy the stock cars like shame they gone really, the only stock cars i know of now in this region is barford raceway outside barnard castle not a bad afternoon out if you like this stuff better than watching them overpaid formula 1 ponces they worse than premier league footballers

There used to be Whippet racing near Newburn Bridge every Sunday morning well into the 70's :shock:
Flat caps and woodbines much in evidence. Good job no Southern softies saw it or stereotype images of it being grim ooop north may have been formed!! :roll: :roll: :roll:
