No detail as yet but it is official. At least he will be off the wage bill which frees up a few quid for another signing. I guess with the alleged rape case, there was little chance of him playing again this season even if found not guilty so him leaving is the best outcome for all concerned. I wonder if the club offered him a few quid to scrap his contract? I guess we'll never know.

no matter what we think of him as a player i do not like a situation before a case comes to court of a player or any other worker for that matter losing there job because of an allogation. it leaves anyone open to something if someone takes a real dislike to you. if he is proved innocent then no one will forget it but they will quickly forget the person who brought the case to the police in the first place.

I would imagine if he’s left the club Pools have been made aware of the likely verdict or what plea Finney is going for. A contract will only become null and void if the person is found guilty or admits guilt before trial not when an allegation is made.

Either that or Pools have come to a financial settlement to end his contract.

Innocent till proved guilty irrespective what opinions are, if found innocent and Pools had ‘sacked’ him he could take Pools to a tribunal for unfair dismissal.

think it must be leaving on mutual terms thing. he,d struggle to find another club at our level anyway never mind the court case. one thing he is guilty of is impersonation of a footballer.

To be honest i think the club took the opportunity to cut the wage bill.

he could be found innocent in court but still have committed conduct warranting being sacked--the standards are different

I wont say more as i know NOTHING about the case--just pointing out it isnt that binary when it comes to dismissal
