This week I have spent time in Stockton & Wallsend and can not remember seeing any dog cr@p.Today I walked around our town centre and down York Road almost every 30 or so steps I found one or more dog cr@ps. Yes it's the owners to blame but I am wondering if our council still clean the streets sctatchinghead I have only seen the footpath cleaning truck once in last two years. It used to come around a few times a year. Anyone know what's going on in Hartlepool sctatchinghead

I don’t think they clean anything, seen a road sweeper twice this year in our road and the floods everywhere are down to the gulley drains never getting cleaned out.
As for dog crap, I’m pissed off with people bagging it then just dumping it.
Ratboy is out in the garden first thing to his business at the same spot in the garden so when I take him out he’s dumped his bomb load…even then I always have bags on me just in case.
Councils are too busy employing ‘Directors of Staples and Drawing Pins’ or other daft jobs to actually employ people to do meaningful work nowadays.
Suppose we have to create jobs for all those students with bizarre degrees somewhere

Crank owners with zero self pride.
Must be cameras on lampposts etc than can catch this scum.
A few well publicized £1000 fines will set an example :animals-dogrun: :angry-tappingfoot:

I heard HBC only have a few motorised road sweepers and you only ever see them in the town centre, Seaton and the Headland.

Same with next doors cats shitting on our lawn…. Ratboy’s nearly had them twice this year, it’s just a matter of time… the lady next door has asked me to have a word with him not to hurt her cats…… stpid of course I will, I’m fluent in Black Fell Terrier…..oh dear.

I have the same problem here with the fat tw@t cat shitting on my lawn. Wouldn't mind but the cats owner is horrible and the only neighbour nobody gets on with. I would never hurt any animal but that thing does my bloody head in and its always my garden rakxe

When we lived up the Fens there was a Persian cat used to sit on the green house roof…our Cairn Terrier (Snowy) would stand there leaping up as the cat swung it’s paw down to tease him..bit like Tom and Jerry.
I’d watch this out the window every morning in the summer but noticed he wasn’t jumping as high as the weeks wore on…. But the fly bugger was getting the cat to hang down lower… result he suddenly found his jumping ability…. He brought it to the back door at six in the morning and I’m burying it in the garden looking over my shoulder.
Two days later and a lad I worked with lived in the next road asked if I’d seen their Persian Cat

No need, a terrier up your arse tends to be a good incentive, if he gets one they’ll be doing back flips in their litter tray.

i have been caught out without a shit bag on me a few times by changing coats at the last minute. its fine if you are in a park, the beach or the dunes as there is usually another dog walker close at hand with a spare. cannot imagine there will be that many dogs around the town centre or york road. not sure whats worse. leaving it where it is or bagging it and leaving the bag there or throwing it in trees as i,ve seen numerous times. money doesn,t grow on them but shit bags seem to do.

Lived in Grange Road for a few years, there used to a trail of dog s**** all the way up to Ward Jackson Park.
When living in Seaton the next door neighbour watched an owner allow their dog to s*** on the pavement outside her house, made no effort to pick it up. She went outside followed the owner to their house and dumped it on the doorstep.

I’ve noticed it’s been worse since Covid…all these idiots buying their cross breed cuties and paying pedigree prices for something to do during lockdown....trouble is most of them haven’t got a clue or now find them a burden.
Most annoying of all is those as they pass you with their pampered pooches with absurdly coiffured tail is to pull their dog away from mine…he’s a working dog, a terrier….I pulled a woman up about it and she said “it’s a common terrier take it away” ….Most dogs like to socialise so I found that attitude pathetic …… so I thanked her for saving my dog from catching something from hers, and hope it clears up.
Cow.

rescue centres those are full of dogs like that where since the end of covid they have become surplus to requirements. i,d blame them more than the poor dog they bought. you do not need a dog to exercise by walking and following rules to the letter of the law.

We sponsor a couple of dogs with the Dog’s Trust because they never put them down if no one adopts them.

we support one each but wish they,d stop sending stuff out asking for more money. like you we do our bit already. not sure though about the RSPCA as i still get the impression that the husky cross we got from them was that we were the last resort and if it we didn,t want him then the next move was the big needle.

You would have to walk your dogs in fenced off in parks and beauty spots if i had my way ,Snowy..and those (fecking nuisance )retractable leads would be banned as well.

I…and I suspect Mr Accy, go nowhere near parks or beauty spots.
Sorry to disappoint.

talking about re homeing in general there are loads of rumanian dogs owned by people around my area. they are doing this for the simple reason of less boxes to tick from our centres than the challenge faced by helping from other countries. you are too old, house not big enough, garden fence too low etc. all thrown at people who have had dogs before and willing to take em out all weathers and not fine day walkers.

I still find it strange in Thailand seeing loads of cats and dogs in the roads. Even on the busy roads the dogs seem to navigate the cars and scooters. I haven’t seen an animal run over

Actually getting a dog off them is pretty rigorous. Home visits, classes etc, you could adopt a kid quicker.

Soi (street)dogs, they don’t belong to anyone, people feed them usually very placid and scared of you.
This a great video where they actually fit devices to dogs who have lost limbs,

we live in one of those new type of houses were downstairs consists of a utility room and a garage. we live on the first floor with bedrooms above that. funny on home visits by rescue people thats never mentioned as the dog would be on iys own permanently downstairs if it could not climb them. suppose only owning big dogs helped but even some of those might have never encountered stairs if they were from bungalows.

When we got ours, he’d been on a farm, a working dog a year old, kept outside in 4x4 cages with three sides open to the weather and an old towel to sleep on. They got out for two months for lambing to stop foxes killing the lambs…….by killing the foxes which is what him and his sister are bred for and totally comfortable with livestock.
When he came home, the stairs were a puzzle to him which he quickly worked out, but apart from that he came perfectly house trained never made a mess ever.
Must feel like he’s won the lottery compared to his former life.

have had both rescue dogs and those bought as pups. always find the latter to be more katy price like than the rescue or private re homing ones. they want you 24/7 near them unlike the grown up pups who,d go with anyonee for a treat.

A word of praise here for the dozens of volunteers who regularly litter pick. Goodness knows what the town would look like without their efforts. Well done each and everyone of you . Please keep going.
