2 MPs for calling for peace, restraint, ceasefire in Gaza. Just shows what the Mother of all Parliaments has become.
Toe the party line or your out.
Condemn Hamas (as im sure we all do) for their murder of many civilians while giving Israel 100% backing for doing much the same (but calling it collateral damage) as they starve and bomb innocents in their desire to destroy Hamas.
Well done to the 2 of them for speaking out, if only all 600 odd of them had the balls to put constituents and conscience ahead of Party.

the state of israel has always had a free ride with many MP over the years. the problem is if they say anything against that state the words of holocaust deniers and being anti jew is thrown at them. its two different topics and not the same. it seems the opposite in muslim states where the religeon practised by the majority in them are open to anything. you would think at times the crusades of the middle ages are still going on.

The longer this fighting goes on there is a potential for other countries to get involved. What then . . . . . ?

Sunak & Starmer should hang their heads in shame.

Starmer is a very similar version of Sunak. He just goes which way the wind blows.
Bravo to the two MPs who have asked for a ceasefire. Alas I can only see this escalating in the next couple of months.
Scary times.

its absolutely terrifying what the state of the world is coming too

the fact that freedom of speech clearly doesnt exist - we live secretly under a tyranny rule. Its just called a Monarchy - puppets that be who ever party is in charge to mask the real rulers of the country / world - yes grab your tin hats.

but this does show how bad the country is being ran and that supplying Isreal with some weapons and other stuff comes first before innocent lives ! not to mention the absolute shit storm this is creating in the Islamic world btw ... we are on a knife edge and on red alert by the way for a terrorist attack.

What Hamas did was absolutely terrible. Israel in reply though want to destroy Gaza no matter the human cost.
Hezbollah are sharpening their knives while at the same time the USA send ships to keep them in check.
WW3 anyone ?

The more severe the Israeli revenge is the more dangerous the rest of the world becomes. Yet our leaders and the US stand firmly behind Istael no matter the war crimes that they're committing.

Yep, a simple case of good(Hamas) versus evil (Israel). Couldnt be simpler.

Problem is its evil on both sides, all Palestinians are not Hamas. World leaders should be working toward finding a way to defuse the situation rather than publicly supporting the Israeli government which is intent on wiping out Hamas regardless of the I.pact on the innocents.
Hugely complex situation which is getting scarier and scarier.

An acknowlegment of the complexity of the situation. It appears to be the case that by and large, those on the left of the political spectrum, back Hamas or even if they don't they are strongly anti Israeli. Those on the right by and large, tend to back Israel. It has become polarized over time. Although there are 75 years of history to be considered, it seems clear to me that the current conflict was deliberately provoked by Hamas carrying out the atrocities on October 7th. While people condemn Israel for their response, very few are prepared to answer the question: "What should Israel have done?" I mean, assuming, "nothing" is off the table.

I don’t know what they should have done but what they shouldn’t have done is bomb and kill thousands of civilians. And it’s still ongoing now.

Would not be happening if Hamas had not carried out that abominable act on 7th October. You wonder why they did it? After all they were never going to invade Israel, were they?
As for civilian deaths, it is always a problem when Hamas openly boast they use civilians as "human shields" and hide military infrastructure under hospitals. Hamas provoke Israel and then complain about civilian casualties when that is precisely what they are instigating.

No it wouldn’t be happening but it’s happened now. It’s still no excuse at all for killing thousands of men, women and children who, are innocent victims in all of this.
Israel could bring about a ceasefire but to me, all they seem to want to do is wipe out the Palestinian population for good.

The Middle East is a basket case, the source of most of the major trouble in the world and religion figures high, a potent mix.

Israel are entering a battlefield which is by far the most dangerous part of soldiering. FIBUA (fighting in a built up area) is death at every corner. P
alestine is now a warren of booby traps and snipers. The IDF will win without question but casualties will be high. Frankly if I were them I'd deploy a slack handful of MOABs.

If a ceasefire is agreed without the destruction of Hamas, they will simply use the time to bring in more weapons and organize their defences.

Wiping out Hamas will change nothing, every Palestinian who's experienced fear, harm, death of a loved one will live the rest of their lives hating Israel and their kids and grandkids will be taught to do the same.
If this latest missile attack on a refugee camp is an Israeli action then surely its got to be condemned by the rest of the world.
Killing innocents in the name of defence is as barbaric as the Hamas slaughters which kicked this all off.

In war the innocents are always the first to suffer as the Israelis found on on the 7th October. People's memories are very short and just a little bit selective.

really for me both sides are both right and wrong and showing support for either side will make it continue even longer. possibly WW1 was the last war fought that more service personell were killed than civilians.

But that’s the trouble with all this, grudges usually with a religious backing lasting centuries.
The Germans lost an awful lot of people to the Allied bombing campaign of cities, do there descendants go looking for revenge.
It’s a mindset across the Middle East that needs changing, because it could be a special place.

think the saying an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth came from the middle east in the first place and different and breakaway religeons have only made things worse. if they were all banned the world would be a better and safer place.

Having a Muslim political party should not be allowed. If they ever got into power we would become a country run by Sharia Law, thus killing any form of democracy. Once elected in we would be unable to remove them by the ballot box.

that just will never happen even with the thousands coming into this country and breeding more than the rest. it may take them 100 years to get a seat in parliament or run a council under that banner unless they all leave the mainly labour party on block.

The Israel,s are a little (massive) Different Jamie.
This is something they have been waiting/preparing for for some time. Probably orchestrated it if the truth be know.

Theres only going to be one outcome in that area.

Nobody knows the outcome or whether it will happen or not but the fact that they want a party tells me enough. As long as we recognise the possibility of the danger long BEFORE it is too late. Stop it starting is the best way forward.

at least they are honest about it unlike northern ireland where you possibly know a persons religeon in the party they vote for.

Obama’s idea that..buggered up Egypt, Syria, Libya and Iraq even further…was he wanting them all to have shopping malls and drive-thru’s like the good old USA… Those country’s were ran by strong arm politicians who kept the region quiet, but it seems to work..Obama torpedoed it and all the refugees that spilled out were because of those actions.

Because Hamas don't want a stable Middle East.
There's been very little conflict over there for the last 20 years & Isreal were even building bridges with
the Saudi's,which they didn't want.
People can jump up & down regarding what the Isreali's are doing, but Hamas kicked all this off & knew fine well the consequences.

you can go to some areas of these places and never see anyone who could be a muslim or a hindu. its because they live mainly in certain areas that give the impression there is more than there actually is. it makes me laugh when you see high school kids walking home. its more or less them altogether and white kids doing the same. tell em they have to do that there,d be a riot from the left.
