Raj seems to keep on employing more n more people for new made up roles. Never known so many behind the scenes employees and so few playing staff. Well how about we employ a defensive coach ( even part time ) to sort our biggest problem defending. J.A was a winger Sweeney a midfielder the other bloke sctatchinghead maybe this is the real problem and the reason it never improves. Maybe the players find the defensive tactics crap and it confuses them sctatchinghead We need a defensive coach it's plain to see I would suggest Raj employees his close friend Garry Pallister who should be perfect given his successful career aswell as working with serial winner Fergy. Second choice could be Gucky again part time unless he is already involved day to day in 1st team affairs sctatchinghead

Ah …… we bring them back, they get the defenders together and tell them exactly what they have to do…then go out and do the exact opposite….master stroke clappp

I'm pretty sure that on several occasions Askey has said the players have been told what they are supposed to do when defending but they just don't do it. It is unclear if they just cant do it or just wont do it.

He has said that. And you can't stand there as a professional NL manager, over and over and over again saying "they're not doing what I tell them to do" and get away with it. They should be doing what you tell them to do because you're being paid a salary for being in charge. And if they're not doing what you tell them to do - then you're not management material.

I know our squad is dire for one reason or another - but organise the back four! (that's what you're being paid for).

One more time just in case John Askey reads this "PLEASE ORGANISE THE BACK FOUR SO THEY'RE NOT STOOD MILES APART LEAVING HUGE GAPS FOR SHITE TEAMS TO SCORE AGAINST US MAKING IT LOOK LIKE WE DON'T HAVE A F'CKING CLUE!"

Good to get that off my chest.

I can understand your frustration. I don’t doubt that Askey and Sweens have been working on the defence but think that players are perhaps just not good enough. If it was me I would have them working on it 12 hours a day. Not just the defence but the whole team

To a point you are right….but….. even the poorest of players should be able to perform what is asked of them positionally and tactically even if poor performers at their craft.
Failure to comply with some as basic as positioning and tactical responses shouldn’t even be on the field.
If this is the case, any manager will have problems and how long has this been going on.
If not, they are either stupid, arrogant or both.

The managers of the past never employed Goalkeeping, defensive coaches etc, why do we need them now ?

The opposition managers do there homework well.
There midfield is piss poor.
Just run thru them or if ya cant be arsed just lob it over them for our forwards to get past the equally bad defense n 2 goalkeepers.
Dosent matter whos in goal they both shite.

Hello 3 points.

Good teams defend as a team, we've had an ineffective midfield for years yet the defenders carry the can. Not saying the defenders are blameless but they get very little protection in front of them and they've got dodgy keepers behind (although of the 2 James on is better than Dixon).
The defence weren't particularly at fault for at least 2 of the goals on Saturday, the keeper was shocking for the first (and it looked like the scorer was yards offside), and the midfield gave away possession far too easily for the 3rd.
Playing Featherstone as a holding midfielder has been a large part of the problem imo, he's far better playing higher up the pitch where it doesn't matter so much if he loses the ball or misses a tackle.
It's bizarre that our best defender Mani O can't get a game, and that one if our better defenders (and a kid who looked a great prospect) Pruti is out in the wilderness. Asked says players aren't doing what he asks them to do week in week out but the same 15 or so are picked regardless. Asked needs to get a grip resolve any personal issues with individuals, and improve otherwise he'll be gone before Xmas.

its not junt this defence and having midfielders who are more attack minded than defensive. its been going on for a few seasons now when we shit ourselves everytime the other team has a corner or set piece out wide. then there is the sea that parts allowing players to run free onto goal. the goals we conceed are not one offs but carbon copies of many others. every player makes mistakes but not the same ones by different players week on week.

If we had to pay 4 hours overtime to every single player 5 days a week we would be bankrupt in a month. bbolt
