It’s pretty obvious if something is a swear word/ abusive….would you use it if you were in the company of strangers outside the board.
If you have a good argument for your opinion you don’t need swear words to accentuate it.

To be fair, that’s done in jest, no malice or attempt to belittle the person.

Lots of different swear words which mean the same thing being forensically examined before being given the red light only to face appeals from bukerites who suggest certain variations which could be deemed acceptable in certain circumstances.

I don't really think it is necessary for me to produce a list of unacceptable words on this forum. The operative words in this case are COMMON SENSE.
HOWEVER....... if guidance is actually required or deemed necessary by some on here, allow me to give you a rule of thumb.

If you follow my example and only use the swear words that I use then you are perfectly in order and in no danger of being pulled up, criticised, or any other action being taken against you.

HOWZAT

far better using your energy in moderating those having a pop at others on here even though its written in the manor of the popes christmas message. its fine to not agree but not being slagged off with the knife inserted and twisted due to differing views.

I prefer it when people use their common sense and actually moderate themselves. Most people do to be fair but there's always one as they say. They know who they are are and know what they're doing. Every forum has them. We don't do too badly actually but we have to be careful. Nobody likes dishing out warnings or bans and we have very little of that but sometimes people don't know where or when to ease off, wind their neck in or whatever description you want to use. We are a friendly bunch usually.

Exactly. The Bunker isn't family entertainment, it's yonks since anyone was on here even pretending to be a woman (Ah Kirsty, where are you now I wonder :romance-hearteyes:). I'm sure we're all familiar with industrial language. If people want to swear about a shocking Pools performance or something that equally gets their goat, that's fine by me. Personal abuse directed at other posters absolutely isn't, with or without expletives.

You could learn to swear in German or some other language, that should be acceptable.

That's what I'm talking about Mr F. No one is against industrial language it's the personal abuse. Your shocking performances example is fine by me also. I've never stopped any of that. What i stopped was a topic headed Aldershot V Arthur Askey's Pissheads and consistently referring to the team as pissheads. We could be sued or closed down by that sort of behaviour and it is not acceptable. We have witnessed Madjohn being taken to the cleaners and it's not gonna happen here.

Fucked if I know!

It’s not the language, it’s when it’s personally abuse. The only people banned in the past, and not many of them, have been for that reason. Abuse and threats. It’s the only rule we have.

Yes, at the end of the day there are things you simply cannot say about publically known figures, like professional sportsmen, politicians, actors etc. I think it is to do with libel. Websites get closed down and individuals get sued. Just not worth it.

surely if its true and you have an independant witnesses then anyone is fair game. this is the reason savile and co have got away with things far too long. surely if someone on the bunker is proved a wrong un they have no less rights than anyone in the public eye has.

Agree with the gist of what you say but in order to prove a point would anyone on here want the site to be shut down and a court case lasting years to begin? If there was concrete evidence of any wrong doing there is a time and a place to deal with it: a footy message board, may i suggest, is probably the wrong place. We are footy fans and we sometimes get peed off but maybe we need to be careful how we let off steam.

If tit was to be included on any list of banned words, there would be uproar from the twitchers amongst us. There was a great tit in our garden earlier this year but sadly never saw a pair of them.

only this week though we had a tale of a handful of players out on the piss in newcastle after saturdays non event. if that is untrue and football related its far worse than slagging off someone of a higher profile than them and they also could take legal action if they knew that was untrue from start to finish or things added to it to make it sounds better on here. truth is always the truth and ever if i am nieve i still think the legal system in this country is better than most.

Well I guess some footballers having a few beers is legal as is discussing it on a footy website but maybe describing the players as "piss heads" might be considered libellous by some individuals which could be a reason to avoid saying it in order to be sure no problems arise. I have no skin in the game as they say although I would rather The Bunker did not get taken down.

Good point Mr O….also using derogatory terms like calling players ‘piss heads’ isn’t just a legal minefield, there’s another side to it.
If you were a player and getting blanket terms like ‘piss head’ used against you by alleged fans of your club, would you want to play for people like that…? I know I wouldn’t if that’s how they described me.

Three players were named one was injured and two were not….not the entire team…… I said they were out of order at the time and got criticised for it, but I stand by what I said that they were wrong.
Whoa …..about opposite opinions, you have opinions, I have opinions….if people don’t like my opinions that’s their right , I ain’t gonna lose any sleep over it and I don’t take offence if someone has a different opinion why should I.
You are the one having trouble with those who don’t toe the line, as for overrating myself and detesting and having no respect……I think some people must be a bit sensitive if they think like that.
Join the mod team, nah, that’s not me.

thing is we have had players in the past who wre piss heads like every single other club has had. many of them were actually some of the better players who fans liked. doubt they gave a toss about what fans felt of them and very few have asked for a transfer because fans do not like them.

Different times Mr A….trouble is if you were a ‘piss head’ back then, you were classed as a character, a sort of cult hero, now it’s used as a term of abuse…

I gather one or more of the players involved is supposed to have said "Keep paying our wages". Is there any info on what was said to the players to promt this? I mean, I dont know cos I wasnt there but just imagine having a few beers with a couple of mates when some "lad" says "0i (players name) you are shite". You could understand the response being less than friendly. On the other hand maybe the "lad" said "Hello old chap sorry to hear you are injured, can I buy you a pint?" I dunno. Easy to get hot under the collar about an alleged incident that few of us have first hand knowledge of.

There’s too many what ifs Mr O, he said, they said and so it goes on…on reflection I suppose was anyone going to challenge them about being out drinking if they’d won 2-0…. the mistake wasn’t the drinking, it was the being out in the first place.
In most situations like this, discretion is the best course to follow, although I’d have thought they thought they were safe in Newcastle..

all i do know is players who know they have let themselves down more than the fans in the past quickly want to get away from the ground and back to there families to lick there wounds. far different in victory but things might have changed in the 30 years since i was last involved with players.
