Just had email from Iceland asking me to pre-book Christmas delivery slot.

Are they having a joke?

I know I put on my bonus card £100 in order to get the extra £20 "divi" but not thinking about Turkey etc until early December.

They're probably just doing a bit of forward planning. It depends how much you value or rely on a delivery slot. If you do rely on delivery but lose out because there are no slots left you might wish you'd taken up their offer a bit quicker.

ASDA have done the same. Our lass got a message about it from them last week.

Given the amount of times they don't have what we ordered - despite accepting the order - and send us substitute items instead, I won't be surprised if we get turkey twizzlers for Christmas dinner..!

And that's my first post as Kenny Bottles - Cheers Mr Irrelevant.

That's the problem with supermarket deliveries. We don't bother using that route but our neighbours mention that very rarely do they get exactly what they order.

Sadly me and our lass are pretty much housebound, and we rely on the delivery service.

To my astonishment yesterday's was 100% correct. To be fair, they usually send a better replacement and you only pay the original price. We've clicked a few quid recently ordering ASDA's own-brand fruit pies and getting Mr Kipling ones instead.

The annoying thing is that most of the cheap shops don't do deliveries, so it costs us a fair bit more than if we could go to Aldi or Lidl. Hopefully I'll be able to get them soon as I've got the use of my legs back and it's now just a matter of time until I'm strong enough to get the bus to Peterlee.

We had to sell the car recently and it'll be the late 80s since I got on a bus. I presume the drivers will be just as miserable when you hold out a tenner to pay for the ticket..!

;)

I went to get a bus a years ago and as i was walking to the terminus i noticed that the driver was a bloke i went to school with.
I asked him for a single to the Yorkshire Lassie. He couldn't stop laughing.

Cheers for that mate. It's taken a while, but I'm slowly getting better. :)
