Don't be silly it is to put the nets up and place the corner flags in position before the start of the game and then make tea at half & full time for the players and officials.

Look at you lot behaving like vikings, Raiding us & stealing our monks!

Can't really tell you much about him as he was only with us for what seemed like 5 minutes! He was head of our emerging talent program, we're led to believe he's going to you as Director of football so it sounds like a step up in position for him? Not sure what he'll bring though & surely in Askey you've already got someone in place who already knows exactly what it takes to get out of that division?

Good luck to Joe in his new role, hopefully he can bring something to the table & aid you in getting back to where you belong.

Cheers Grayhoundend, not going to lie it was one of the best Saturday's I've had in a good while & resulted in much liquid merriment being partaken of in celebration  Fingers crossed that you guys can stay in that chasing pack. Chesterfield usually have a wobble after starting strong, early days yet.

Regarding the 5-0 defeat of the cast of the Wrexham soap opera, was this result in the happy ever after script, or did Stockport ignore the script and just play football. We must be told.

I think he left South Shields in May to go to Stockport, is he from the North East, could be for non football reasons he wants to be back up here, who knows.
Sounds ok, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

According to the intro page on the Pools site - He joined Stockport in July... and it is now September. Looks like we are a more convenient option than the commute along with what would be a more senior role - which is a better reason. No matter, as long as he does a good job.

What a set up another scape goat to sack when things go wrong, yet Raj's boy Lee Rust is still here interfering in things he knows nothing about and reporting back to Raj. Lennie Lawrence was supposed to be football advisor to the board for what good he did us. Lets be honest Raj thinks he is the new Steve Gibson but without the money to back it up. It seems strange to me after all his tears in local business that none of his contacts are willing to back him or do they all know something we do not

You back him then…but what exactly are you implying?

He goes to Stockport, after several months with the youth set up he decides he wants to be back in the grown up world.
Incidentally, he’s been at Shields, a club frequently held up by some on this board as an ambitious club we should learn from. Checkmate.

The ‘business community’ was famous for it’s couldn’t give a toss attitude which is how Raj came to be here, they just didn’t want to know.
So their opinion is as welcome as a bucket of warm spit.

To be brutally honest Snowy, pre-match I was shitting it expecting a score line like that in their favour. We've got a big injury list & hadn't started the season well due to DC having this crazy idea of playing 3 at the back but trying to convert last seasons RB & an out & out LB into CB's, it clearly wasn't working but DC seemed intent on stubbornly sticking with it. Further injuries resulted in him being forced into going with a back 4 & putting round pegs in round holes & lo & behold we pick up a couple of wins! We'd been shite at defending set pieces & I feared Wrexham's giants would exploit that, also rat boy (Paul Mullin, not your dog! ) was back for them & I was convinced he'd get his 1st of the season against us.

Now I really, really don't like Wrexham. Nothing to do with the Hollywood shite, my dislike goes back years. Wrexham is one of those places where off field trouble always seems to present itself. I went there one year & got set about by a load of big lumps with golfing umbrellas, upon making my escape I ended up in a field somewhere, thinking I was safe I started trudging across the field relieved that I'd evaded a good umbrellaing only to realise that I was sharing said field with a rather large & disgruntled bull who decided that he'd join in the fun by charging at me! Now I was always crap at the high jump in school but that day I produced an olympic standard vault over a 6ft fence that Daley Thompson would of been proud of to escape the rampaging beast

Anyway back to last Saturday, basically their lumbering giants at the back, especially that long throw merchant Tozer couldn't live with our 2 pacy lads up front running at them, 3-0 up at half time we couldn't quite believe it but still no-one thought it was in the bag, Wrexham have a penchant for crazy score lines & coming back from the seemingly impossible so there was still plenty of nerves about. We make it 4-0 early 2nd half & I start thinking 'well we're definitely on for a point at least :-D ' They had a good go but we stood firm & then Paddy Madden popped the 5th in on 90 mins to put the cherry on the cake & finally have us believing we'd get the win

Such is my dislike for them I point blank refuse to watch any of their documentary, but if that makes the cut in one of their episodes I may just make an exception

Off to Accrington today, & it wouldn't surprise me at all if we come back down to earth with a bump & lose, it would be typical County!

Good luck to you against Dorking today, should be a home banker, they've picked up a little bit but fingers crossed you bag the 3 points

The great unknown, I’m hoping for a nice North Sea breeze to disorientate them.
I like your line about being 4-0 up and still expecting them to come back into it, that’s me all the time, you always expect someone to rain on your parade.
Remember we were beating Grimsby 4-0 at half time and they came out second half and scored straight away…..the groans around me, including me thinking oh no sadx ..then we won’t 8-1…it was a close run result
