I always thought Turner was a mistake when IOR took over when the money was coming into the club…..we always just missed out, always thereabouts but it became the norm to fail again.
I always thought we could have done better when the one time money was there to go somewhere by getting a better manger.
All water under the bridge now as it happens, but nice to muse about the what ifs.

He was the perfect fit at the time, brought some great players in and had us consistently playing the best football that I can remember. Plus he was passionate about the club, the penalty shoot out play off loss hurt him as much as us but he vowed to put it right and he did.

Chris turner was a great manager for us first time round. Brought in some great players, players we can only dream about getting now.

But Newell got us promoted with Turner’s players, in fact te title was ours to lose that year.
But when he had a good budget, it was easy to bring in good players.
