Depends which Pools turn up on the night. They’ve got a fairly tight defence but drew three of their last five, so expecting 1-1 hoping for 3-1….but they don’t concede many at all.
No team has put more than one goal past them, apart from would you believe it ….Oxford City, who put three last them but still drew.

I think we would all snatch someones hand off for 4 points out the next 6. About time we beat solihull at home, cant remember beating them here, could be wrong though.

Now we've had a clean sheet - I'm going for another 1 nil win, tight game where we grind out the result
Josh to score a penalty late on, that he managed to win himself!

That's wishful thinking, Josh to get a penalty. He can't even get a free kick given, with 4 players fouling him, the ref see it as he's fouling 4 players.

Reghan Tumilty scored in the 93nd minute or thereabouts to send it into extra time - and I thought "maybe these Scottish lads are alright after all...".

Back to the present: Even with our injury woes we're better set up than we were in 2022. Pools to win 3-2 Finney, Grey and Josh.

We very rarely win back to back home games when the 1st games midweek.
Would also be happy to drop 2 more points from these games.

they are a good youthful side with Beck seeming to be chipping in with some goals for them.

weird side as they arnt that big in terms of numbers but still possess that quality in the centre of the park with Sbarra.

no Dallas this time thankfully as he has a nice knack of always notching against us - as per last season in the cup (i think).

i would think it will be a tough game - can see a draw and then a comfortable win at the weekend.

Crawford back in contention - Hopefully Wallace isnt injured and Lacey back to sure things up at the back although the defence was still shocking at the weekend and we let far too many balls into the box - when are we going to get someone in who can both defend and organise this back line - was pleased with how Dolan impacted the game and he seemed to want to organise a bit more. Hope he is at least on the bench again tomorrow !

need something from Umerah aswell - hes due a goal at home surely !

About time Umerah earns his cult status for what he did at Wealdstone n 1st few months of last season.

I go into games now with the mindset of expect the unexpected even tho its a piss poor division and we so called a big fish in a small pond.

im shocked Umerah hasnt done more yet - i know he has had lack of game time but the games he has started based on the last 2 seasons you would of guaranteed he would of gotten more goals by now - hopefully Mani D dry spell is up too as we really need to pump some goals into these tonight

I would take a draw tonight but after four good points on the road last week, six points at home this week would be most welcome to back last week's effort up and make September's tally a bit more respectable.

Get u answer tonite.
The referees holding his game back is wearing thin.

Anyhow its Solihull tonite not Man City.
Hopefully Woking was a one off and Fortress Vic resumes.

They have had 5 away games so far, winning 4 and drawing the other.

Just think they might be too strong for our weakened team and they will go home with the points winning 2-1.

I suspect you are right but as always, hope springs eternal. Of course they are not Man City but they are a good solid NL outfit who usually finish in play off contention so Pools will have to play well to get anything out of the game. Might be a bridge too far considering our injury plague.

Lovely evening for a night match - looking forward to it. I was away when we got beat by Woking so I'm assuming that game was an aberration and normal service will be resumed. Home win!

Fucking shite

2 appalling goals, seaman beyond a joke now and I think it was Hendrie who wants his wages docking for the 2nd

Tapping around ok with no penetration know we have injuries but midfield is so lacking it’s untrue
Mani D and umerah don’t look like they can play together either

Ps wonder if Askey keeps the innovative tactic of playing with 10 men or hooks Joe ‘the invisible man’ Grey at half time

Long season ahead

What does it mean when we get 0 points and we also play toss again?

Work to do, even in a points game. Solihull are so much better than us, no complaints on that first half, could and should have been 3.

Man for man on that first half - Solihull are the fitter, stronger, technically better and organised team. Second best team I’ve seen so far this year (after chesterfield), but marginally the worst performance I’ve seen from Pools (just before Saturday). Big 2nd half needed after a rocket from JA.

For me this is down to askey why did he not just keep 532 with dolan in midfield instead of grey.

The players look clueless on what they have to do and Solihull are not breaking a sweat they don't have to

They be no Rocket from JA, they'll show a bit more effort, but the games gone, especially the way Solihull are playing and defending. All we can do is pray they take their foot off the gas.
If we score, they'll go straight up and score themselves.

Wouldn't this be the time to bring on Aghatise to see what he could do. Box to box player who apparently has pace and skill. Bet he'll bring him on with 6 minutes to go.

They are well behind Cheaterfield imo and also Gateshead and Barnet, they are well organized but we have made it so easy for them.

We are out all 3 of our first choice midfield likely for most of the season in the case of 2 out of 3 of them so trying to give us some leeway but the defence and keeper (mani o aside) are way way below standard

It’s quality that’s missing not effort.

Think Askey knows it too, best we can do is bob around mid table without a right back and at least 1 new midfielder

Well we are winning with the score of yellows 4 - 1

Be more suspensions at this rate and soon there will be a red for 2 yellows

Don’t see any point in sacking Askey he’s been crippled with injuries , he seems to have blind spots like a lot of managers but any manager would struggle with the midfield he is left to pick from, his inability to get organized defensively is a concern though
