Pools were away to Oxford United, at the Kasam Stadium, and Gordon Watson scored one is usual worldie goals which turned out to be the winner, putting pools on top of League Two.
It was also the day that Tino Asprilla did his amazing disappearing trick at Darlo.

On Saturday teatime that game seemed an awful lot longer than 21 years ago
