Someone just said when the player got up he slightly pushed the ref that's probably why he red carded him but even then you would have thought he would understand he caused it and would leave it at that or at worst book him. Score 1-1

Just watched this back for the 1st time and the ref is a total tw*t he catches the player in the eye the player squats down rubbing his eye and stands up in seconds the ref gives him a red  card.

really what did he expect to player to do, ask him if his arm is alright. if someone pushes you in the street do you appologise for being around to be pushed. the thing is that situation happened to me once when i signelled the direction of a 50/50 throw in situation where i gave a player a real wallop who gave me a mouthful at the time of the incident which was expected. just said sorry pal and got on with the game and all was forgotton. the trouble was i,d been doing the job for years unlike so many now who are fast tracked and never come into contact with these one off situations till they reach pro football.
