Wondering what folks who have seen them both play would say how they are different. Is one quicker, is one better at getting on the end of crosses, does one hold up the ball more effectively? Just wondering what Poolies think. Dont want a discussion on who is better just the differences.

Really hard to say on the basis of one proper look at Mani, but they could be a very effective partnership at this level. Josh has never been a proper target man and isn't a natural finisher inside the 6 yard area - Mani looks to be both. Josh scores good goals from further out and when he gets on the ball he's a hard man to stop - legally! Refs give him nowt though, so that hardly matters...

Thanks for that, MR FH. Never seen Mani live but my impression of Josh is that he is not really a target man and prefers picking up the ball a bit deeper. Having said that, in the Barnet game he scored from just inside the area after the Hastie pen miss: a great finish.

I think it’s a pleasant dilemma to have.

I'd say Josh is the better with his back to goal, Mani looks to have a bit more pace and looks to get on the end of things. Josh is good at holding the ball up but Mani looks to be the better all round player with more awareness of what's going on around him. I certainly wouldn't want to be a CB with those 2 against me.
I reserve the right to change my opinion after each and every game!!

they have not played many games together but have a feeling they,ll both click as a partnership as i,m sure one of them said they get on well with the other which will be a help. one will always have a better game than the other but at least we look like scoring unlike for the previous 2 seasons goals came unexpectedly where we didn,t expect em. they are basically different enough to compliment each other.

First time Pools have went into a NL season with 2 decent forwards who both have a record of getting over 10 goals a season in this league too.

they will get better as time goes on its clear to see that both being together does work - just need good balls into the area for Mani D as shown at the weekend and he will be there to put them away (same ilk as Armstrong for me, Strong and is good in the box).

Josh will make things happen and no doubt Mani can feed off the 2nd ball or score from a pass. Good Dilemma to have but unfortunately now for the next 3 games we aint gunna see it happen - its upto Wreh to do something and something better than the Barnet game.

needs to form a new partnership with Mani D and push Umerah for the starting 9 position - even better dilemma to have if we have 3 decent forwards all pushing for a space and all scoring goals

Be interesting to see how the other partnership goes while Umerah is suspended.

it would be great if it did come off to give JA a good problem to choose a partnership when all 3 are available. normally at pools strikers pick themselves.
