Enjoy the 20,000 word preview I've put together above. Everyone will have differing views but hopefully it acts as a good guide as to what each team has done for the coming season.

Thanks--great read!

Looks like we have our work cut out for us early on in Barnet and Gateshead

I don't see Askey leaving as you predict---or at least not due to his performance--our chairman may get a bit silly and trigger happy.

Cant argue with cheaterfield for title but interesting Woking are rated as highly as they are.

Great and interesting read. Quite a deep and thoughtful analysis. Obviously I believe Pools will go up this time as champions and hopefully York City or The Heed as well. I would probably go down a storm at Edinburgh but hey its all about opinions at this stage. Still sticking to an opening day forecast of Barnet 0 Pools 3. Biggest games of the season Pools V Chesterfield and its return followed by Pools v York City. Oh, and Rochdale v Oldham will be massive for this league as well. Top scorer the one who scores the most goals.

[quote="ToTheHartlepool2-0"]Great and interesting read. Quite a deep and thoughtful analysis.
enjoyed it all but with a few reservations though. firstly looking at pools past JA leaving during the season is a good bet. Looking at a lot of those signings clubs have made many look like sideways signings from similar clubs and they,ll lack continuity with a big hope they,ll come off. pools had to do this because of the state of the playing staff, but some of the others after having decent seasons seem to be changing players either for the sake of it or in hope. can see chesterfield having a real good start to the season with few additions and these additions look to have improved what was there last season. as for pools what is said was right even though i think we,ll finish a few places higher up than the predicted 12th. even that was an improvement over our last first season in the NL.

Must admit, I had a lot of trepidation about the reaction to predicting you 12th but Pools fans on a few boards have been very kind whilst respectfully disagreeing.

I hope I'm completely wrong and that you get the Play Off push you all seek. Hopefully my lot (The Daggers) aren't too far behind.

thought that vilete lad you had was quite a decent player the few times i saw him. that other ex player of yours jay bird must have had a rough time at school because of his name. i,d have disowned my parents if they,d have done that to me.

I admire your knowledge of this division and also your honesty - let's face it, you'd have lost a lot of money if you'd put bets on your own predictions for last season.

Even from the lofty heights of League 2 last August, Poolies on the Bunker all expected that the 2 NL promotion places would be a 3-way struggle between Wrexham, County and Chesterfield - most likely in that order. Tipping Chesterfield to go up as champions and not getting any of the other four play off teams right tells us we need to know about your abilities as a pundit - it's almost a relief you're not tipping Pools to do well.
