Think Pools have cocked up again. Only 1 seat showing as being available on the on-line ticket booking page. Still 5 hours to kick off.

Best ring the box office number. I've had the same happen with the online booking system in the past and it was a technical glitch.

Just spoke to ticket office and was told we have plenty of tickets avaliable to purchase at the ticket office prior to the game. I said are you sure tickets will be avaliable because it looks like the stand is sold out...she said we have permission to open more blocks if required sctatchinghead so I am going down to try to purchase tickets just hope it's not a waisted journey. I simply cannot get my head around opening one stand for all fans to share its got to be lack of ambition or pure penny pinching.

On the OS earlier in the week they said they'd based the decision on advanced ticket sales. It must have seemed reasonable to assume that a 1,600 capacity stand would be enough for the Harrogate game, given the match against Sunderland on Tuesday will be rammed.

Just goes to show you should never underestimate the Poolie faithful's appetite for a friendly!

If the balls up over fans getting in as against Boro then what will it be like against Sunderland,if Rose Stoker can not get friendly games organised she should go yet another of Raj's incompetent staff.'

Any radios commentary tonight?

Assuming not, can someone present give us a score update, as and when a goal goes in? Cheers KP

See no Mani D in tonight's squad. Is he carrying a knock?

Thanks for the goal updates Ozzy.
What's the game been like so far? Typical friendly or has it been remotely competitive?

I have followed game on HUFC official twitter. I live in the South East so not prepared to make 270 mile trip for a friendly. No one replied to your request so I thought some news was better than no news. Final score was 1-2, second scorer not named.

Both teams played strong line ups for around 60 minutes, this wasn't a friendly going through the motions, but wasn't quite full blooded either.

We dominated the first 25 mins, played good football, used the channels well and got into dangerous positions without testing the keeper.

Seaman is a good player, quick and comfortable on the ball, wants to play football.

Onaraise is miles better than Hartley, Murray etc. Can thread a ball into midfield, strong in the air and quick. Looked confident.

Mancini is excellent, can pick the ball up in tight spaces, works hard, can beat a man and can score.

Dixon wants to play football and looks dynamic, couple mistakes but hope that doesn't happen often.

Wreh was disappointing when he came on, we only really had a half fit Umerah in attack. Grey did okay, lots of running and didn't give the ball away. He may get a chance vs Barnet.

Second half Harrogate were much better, we were less dominant. Mancini took his goal very well, miles better than Featherstone.

Only 1,242 in, so the decision to only open one stand was the right one. Pools still need to get their online booking system fixed with its '1 seat left' nonsense.

surely there is little need to book on line for a friendly game like that with the expected gate as it was.

Whilst I don’t like to judge players or teams on friendly games I must admit I came away very disappointed at what I saw. I don’t want to mention individuals as we all have different opinions but it just seemed like last season to me poor midfield and little up front. Anyway early days and as I say it was a friendly.

You just can't keep losing your best players year on year and expect to get off to good starts just won't happen. Barnet and gateshead games worry me, I think we're going to be found out big time once again. Only good thing we can keep signing players I reckon we will improve as the season goes on.

I remember being really pleased with our performance and result when we drew 1-1 with Sunderland in our final friendly last season - to then lose 4-0 to Walsall just a few days later. I’m sure Askey will iron out any creases in the coming weeks.

Not the best of games probably only 6 efforts on goal in total 2 Pools 4 Harro. Pools best team 1st half Harro best team second half. NEW players who look good for Pools Dixon ( miles better in every department than killdrop) Seaman neat and tidy. Onariase ( outstanding player cool n calm uses both feet good in the air plays out from back & plenty of speed ). Mancini ( simply the best footballer on the pitch I reckon he will be our top player and possibly the best midfielder in the Vanarama ). Other players who have improved judging by this game only. Grey looks confident 1st time in over a year. Patterson improved. Pruti improved. Dolan much improved in midfield. Nice to see Josh work so hard with good attitude & good to see both Cook n Lacey getting back to playing. Players who did not play well Crawford / Cooke nothing seemed to work on the night but both give it 100%. Only Hastie for me looks even worse than last season if that's possible doesn't look interested. The biggest problem after 25 mins was linking midfield to attack because we had no target man..Mani will definitely change that after his Barnet one match ban over.

Apart from Pools, 5 other NL sides had home friendlies against League 2 opposition last night - Bromley, Dagenham, Oldham, Solihull Moors and York. Most of those sides are reckoned to be play-off contenders, but they all got beat. Haven't been on any of their fan sites, but I bet they've all got a few fans who are worrying about what that loss means for their season.

On the other hand, Aldershot, who are expected to struggle, won away at Sutton. So, get your money on the Shots for a play-off spot? bbolt

really its just like those behind the locked doors traing matches clubs organise during the season apart from fans being allowed in to watch. there will be thousands of fans across the country who for some unknown reason will be basing how their clubs do next season on how they have done in pre season friendlies against oppononents they will not be playing.

Friendlies are just froth, anyone who bases anything on friendlies is a fool.

After the Boro game i said Mancini will get a contract either at Pools or in L2 - thankfully after that showing hes at us. Really good footballer with an eye for a pass - for 22 he has years left to really sharpen his tools - you can see why the Likes of Crawford have never really played higher than his time at Pools and Notts tbh. This lad has those qualities you would expect from a top level team Graduate ! Lets hope he sticks around and we dont get offers in for him come Jan !

anyways we need another forward for me and someone to come in for Wallace as he will be a massive positive for us too this season

i think its a case for Cooke to be pushing to get infront of the latter mentioned

nice to see Jordan Cook back and should he stay fit and gather match sharpness he also will be a good player for us

consistency is going to be our major thing this season and hoping key players stay fit

He’s sound..he has one of those bone shaped ID discs, took it off, drilled it at one end so it hangs vertically and can’t catch…doubtless the inquisitive bugger will find some new way to alarm us.
