I trust Askey's judgement and I gather those who saw him play against Boro were impressed so the signs are good.

He's been under the microscope for a couple of weeks so must have done enough. As the departing Chandy put it, 'Bienvenu a 'Artlepool Antony.'

Despite his name, Mancini, full name Anthony Jesus Gomez Mancini, is French with Spanish descent so I’m afraid the Italian comments are irrelevant. refred

The very one and it is widely rumoured that he was also responsible for inventing Verrill's batter mix. :o

The Verrilll’s batter mix, if copied, left the batter ‘forger’ liable to transport in chains to Australia, but the rules were relaxed in 2022 and replaced by confinement to a maisonette in Billingham, hard, but fitting.

So far so good, I would like to see how he gets on in a competitive game before judging him a 100% success.

Snowy, hope you're right about the Verrils connection - he might then be able to share with the Poolie public the highly classified and much sought after and hopefully completely unredacted, Verrils Opening Hours!
