Bought a couple of books last week and one was about Operation Sealion, the plans for the German invasion of Britain in 1940….but I was surprised to discover that a diversion was planned by the Kriegesmarine to take attention away from Kent and Sussex…’Herbstreisse’ or ‘Operation Autumn Journey’ was the name given to a ten ship decoy force including four large passenger liners that were to set course for Hartlepool from Norway to distract the Royal Navy.
Hartlepool was the only access point for tanks as the coast was all cliffs north of Hartlepool and the Yorkshire coast was all cliffs too.
Another was the famous picture of Churchill holding a machine gun, and it was actually taken at the Heugh Battery when he was given it to inspect during a visit in 1940I never knew that. sctatchinghead

There are some great books about WW2 and obviously that is one of them.

Don't let the migrants know Snowy or they will be heading that way!

Might be a good idea to actually tell the migrants it is a soft landing but they must wear French naval uniforms to get the "warmest" welcome.

no need to worry as the council will put up another sign banning them from the beaches and on reading it they,l sail away.
