Kelly chose his words carefully whilst discussing players still at the club and the ones who had left, the interview is a couple of weeks old though so not all the new signings mentioned.
What a fantastic day it was with the weather and the blue sky.

I got bored after 20 mins. Talks a good game but at the end of the day it’s the manager who should impose his identity on the team. More importantly the best managers have fantastic man management skills which can make average players become good and good players excellent. Like most fans I’m on board with Askey at the moment.

Yes, he can talk for Ireland, the land of the gab. As you say, the interesting bit - apart from the Sylla update - was right at the beginning when he talks about establishing an identity and style of play for the club - that sounds like the kind of Sporting Director role that causes grief with managers in the Premier League, never mind the fifth tier!

Its always the same with this club though and many others have all said the same - DC was flabbergasted when he came in and seen the state of the place behind the scenes (given we where almost bust i know that). But again we are always a shit show behind the scenes or not professional enough. Even PH came in with a philosophy and tried to change the way things where - regardless of how shite a manager he was, he knew what was needed and the way things should be behind the scenes and even him coming from part time jock footy noticed things where missing and not right. Good that Kelly is on board and again wants to fix it and try sort us out. Good manager and good director of football who actually knows what he is doing is a recipe for success for me - Kelly said he will let JA do his job and he does his which is fair enough.

or a change of identity and style to be tough hard to beat playing positive football rather than being unfit and soft as shit and easily turned over.

I just worked out who Kelly is

Around 20 years ago, Carlisle were managed by Roddy Collins....and Kelly was one of a large Irish contingent of players brought over with no league experience....needless to say they were relegated, very similar situation to what we had last year with Hartley--over estimation of the quality of a different league with disastrous results

might have been better if it had not dragged on as long with a lot of repetition. just thought when he went on about doing a zoom call at 10pm. imagine getting one from someone who could talk like that if you wanted to get to your pit.
