know we could give 22 but what are your two pet hates. players going down injured just to break up play especially defenders and long throw ins that every team seem to use and the time taken doing them.

Sky TV, the overinflated transfer fees and eye watering salaries being paid to Premier League players, ok that’s 3 but Sky created it, 4 now too many foreigners playing in the Premier League not giving our own youngsters the chance.

Most of my pet hates could be stopped by stronger officials. All the time wasting, yard pinching, referee hounding shenanigans could be prevented by good, strong and consistent refereeing.

The fact that at one time you could identify the squads of most top level clubs, ….. now I can’t be arsed to even bother, they’re all so mercenary an£ fly by night.
Match of the day, the perma smirk of Catweazle and the football version of the Rain Man opposite and assorted ‘never were anything’s to begin with’ has weaned me of that programme.

Good point, one player was quoted as being offered £220,000 a week, surely this is insane…probably why players don’t get the respect they once did.

Tampering with the rules by the governing bodies. One example being the handball rule - there was nothing wrong with it as it was, if the ball is touched with the hand intentionally then it is a handball. All the other stuff that has been added in recent years isn’t required…

The ridiculous prices of Sky and BT and their smarmy pundits.

Timewasting and feigning injuries, which happens in all divisions.

People who complain about Sky seem to have forgotten how shit football on TV was before Sky came along. Remember when Match of the Day was highlights of one game? Usually Liverpool. All of the multi-camera match coverage that MOTD does its little 5 minute edits on now comes from Sky and the other subscription channels. It's the format of MOTD that's the problem, not the quality of the games.

The no back pass to the keeper which encourages them to hold onto the ball and has done away with the six second rule for keeper to release the ball.
The extraordinary amount of extra time added Ferguson would have been delighted.

1- Hobby Clubs
2- Offside rule- which used to be so simple and now is ridiculous -
active/ inactive/ left knee Offside - coupled with linesmen not putting flag up, which can lead to injuries when players assume the ball is still live- properly boils my piss!

And now paying throw the nose for subscriptions and ruined football, who wants to sit and watch so called analysts mostly failed managers discussing a game on a computer screen, listen to Cloughie comments about televised football.

just get rid of lino,s where they have VAR and goaline technology. just bring in touchline one as well. less and less you see em involved in the game where all free kicks are given by refs. its just a matter of time before a really serious injury happens with that late flag farce and we all know what would happen if this happened to an english star causing em to miss t5he world cup. a quicker u turn than any government has ever done.

at times i have wondered when i played parks football why have an official one anyway. played plenty of games where the ref never turned up or we didn,t have one allocated and they all ended up with less problems on the pitch than when we had certain ones.

Laying down behind the wall has to stop now.

I've given up on the foul throw rule now, it just seems like you can fling it in any old way you want.

above our level, but guaranteed buy back clauses....makes transfers glorified loans and removes any risk in decision making for the big clubs.
Sell someone, if they turn better than you thought buy em back below market value and either keep or ship on again for another profit,.

Oh and 5 subs...another thing put in to help the bigger clubs

in the words of the league referee andy madley they were told to ignore it unless the player was really taking the piss ,just to quicken the game up. better getting keepers to do that and tightening up on throw ins.

The player steals a few yards, the ref waves him back then the precedes to steal the same number of yards again and the ref ignores him, should be a booking.

yes, and once you set your stall out to be strict on it you have lost it if players take the piss. they,ll start to do it in other aspects of the game then. possibly something that really winds up the majority of fans when other teams do it and laugh when we do the same. question for all, when the ball goes out by the corner flag when was the last time you saw any defending side take the throw from where it actually does go out. level with the goal line is the best you can expect. they are quick to stop a side trying to get on with it if they take a quick free kick to someone a couple of yards away if the ball moves a fraction of an inch. the only advantage they get is trying to get on with the sodding game which is all most of us want to see.

I read the other day Harry Kane has been offered £400,000 a week by Spurs to tempt him to stay.

WOW.

Southgate
Lineker

What Lineker gets paid £1.5 m of taxpayers cash for what he does is totally beyond all comprehension……a smug wordsmith…surprised he hasn’t gone into politics.

Same fella has never won a medal at the senior level, Shearer only ever won one, better off staying at Spurs 29 years old now and needs Son playing alongside him.

It’s not as if he is going to run off to another media channel, I just can’t see what the BBC see the attraction to him and for me if he left tomorrow he wouldn’t be missed.

before it was revealed that huw edwards was the presenter the number of people who hoped it would be lineker that was involved shows how low his popularity is. only at the bbc would their most unpopular presenter being their highest paid one.
