Having a reconised manager (not a fly by night) rests big with the bookies.

Both odds at William Hill but you can also check odds against other bookies using the oddschecker website

Hope this helps

not unless your crystal ball is as good as the one used by the bookies. how can odds be given when there is not a single team in any league have sorted out all their transfers in and out. the joke is some believe all this crap.

Basically the bookies are going on the potential of a take over, a ready made 15 goal a season striker already here. Parachute payments that help us over other clubs and potential, bookies aren't daft.

You have to remember that at the start of the season supporters of all 24 Clubs will bet on their side to either be champions or at least get promotion.

This means the odds are vastly stacked in the bookies favour as they are only paying out 1 in 24. So even if we are, say, 20-1 and are champions they will still pocket a nice return (assuming there was an even spread of money)

I would be happy with a promotion place as I am sure you all are.

Seems like the bookies are giving out false hope to entice cash from Pools fans.
Sure there was a few mugs got stung off last seasons.
Once bitten twice shy.

Last time we went down I think they had us around 6th or 7th favourites, which let's be honest at the time was fair enough. Look we all know without a takeover we ain't going to trouble the top 2 but they are hedging there bets. The league this year is exceptionally weak compared to previous years. Pools and rochdale are a mess, Southend been in financial trouble, oldham as well though they seem to want to improve this season, so the bigger clubs all seem to have issues.

Odds will go out on Pools when someone gets umerah, they realise we ain't going to bring in quality players or we get thumped at dorking first game.
