Just as long as we get some decent coin for him so we can buy a replacement.

Not sure Sutton could afford him, They may well struggle this season.

Maybe the Wombles.

good luck to him wherever he ends up. one player who could not be accused of not putting a shift in even when his goals dried up. would not surprise me where he ends up but if i had to bet on anyone it would be mansfield.

I dont think it is a case of us "getting shot". The lad wants to go. We cant hang onto a player who doesn't want to be here so we might as well cash in.

Obviously since February when he dident get his move his performances dropped off majorly.
Needs to be moved out asap.
Overated anyway n played a big part in our relegation along with plenty of others. :angry-tappingfoot:

did he ask for a move in the last window. personally i rated him and thought it was only his goals that dried up since then and not a big fall off in his game. his goalscoring was good in a poor struggling side with less opportunities to score than he would have got with a better side. could be a coincidence but was the playing of jennings the cause of his goals drying up. just a thought with no evidence to back this up.

He did go off the boil, for what reason I doubt we’ll ever know, but a Josh Umerah on his game is an asset, thing is, is he still committed?

I think Josh probably will be sold. Not sure though how a player who scored 15 goals for a really poor side can be dismissed as overrated, not to mention "played a big part in our relegation." Take away the points Umerah's goals played a big part in earning and we'd have been relegated a sight sooner.

Not to mention the 17 goals he scored for Wealdstone in the NL the season before last. Josh is just the kind of big, awkward centre forward with an eye for goal who terrorized Pools' defence for most of our last sojourn in this league. So yeah, get rid

He didnt really do a Watson or Richie Barker did he... but yeh the lad had a good start and can score goals. Probs more suited in the NL where his style of play suits better. Im sure we will replace him though there is plenty of good lads been released.

he will a valuable asset to some team who can use him to his strengths but then again he could also become a nuisance sub player - as we seen sometimes for us he did more coming off the bench to disrupt games and had we had a better team would of benefited him doing that more often.

I think it would definitely be a southern team or even a Notts might take a gamble on him as i cant see them keeping Langstaff - Sunderland where interested in him i was hearing.

Barker joined a good side that was already aiming at promotion - not Hartley's misfits and no hopers.

We are crying out for a player who can score goals. If we signed a player from the football league in pre season who scored 5 goals, twitter would go into meltdown that we are going to win the league, so this lad needs to be hear no matter what next season, we will not sign any better, it's been proven over the last couple of season we do not replace good players with ones who are better.

He scored 17 goals for Wealdstone, prior to that he wasn’t a prolific talisman, Pools paid a fee for him and would also want one for him, currently no one appears to be interested.

well lets just hope then if he does stay - he puts in a shift and plays for the shirt on his back

he knows what this club is all about now and the fans - im sure he would put himself alot better in the shop window if he can return 25 goals next season in the NL

so in his last 2 seasons he has scored 32 goals for a bottom half NL side and a relegated div.2 side. i,d be over the moon to get a player in with that record. if he had the same goalscoring record for stockport in their promotion and leyton orient last he,d have gone by now and for a lot more cash than pools would get for him.

Are you serious prolific scorer, 41 games for Pools 12 goals according to Wikipedia ?

unless we sign a scorer that is. a goals a goal anyway if its in a competitive first team fixture, but a penalty scored in normal time should be taken off em when goalscoring stats are announced. can make a scorers record look much better than it is.

No it doesn't - as always, have a look at the In The Mad Crowd website if you want absolutely reliable Pools info compiled by a lifelong Poolie.

In this case, http://www.inthemadcrowd.co.uk/UI/Seaso ... id=2022/23. Umerah scored 12 league goals last season and 3 in the FA Cup (1 in the 1st round away tie at Solihull Moors and 2 in the second round when we beat Harrogate at the Vic).

Still doesn’t make Umerah a prolific goal scorer does it ?

When we get his replacement and he has scored the usual 5 goal in 3 seasons, umerah will look prolific then.

Interviewed on Twitter after the Redcar game John Askey said it looks like Josh isn't going anywhere. The focus is on getting him up to speed after missing part of pre-season.

Presumably that means potential buyers haven't come up with what Pools were looking for so that's it - for now at least. Good.

Maybe Josh has also looked at recent additions of Manni D, and Wreh upfront along with Joe Gray and potentially Jordan Cook and reflected that he won't have to carry the teams attacking threat single handedly like he did for 2 thirds of last season.

thats crossed my mind as well. did well for me especially when jennings was regarded as his best starting partner. if he does settle down i can see us having a good striking partnership if they come off together. its not mo sylla we are talking about.

There was 2 clubs who Askey even confirmed made bids - he followed that statement by saying good bids too, which surprised me as there could of been a potential for a bidding war. A good bid for a striker at this level im guessing maybe 6 figures ? but obviously not enough for what we rate him at. No doubt Raj had his advisors telling him what we should at least be asking for the lad. Still time for things to change but i guarantee he wont be going to another NL club. See how he gets on till Jan then see if the wolves come back

glad hes staying - will be a massive help and if he can link up with Mani D we have one of the better strike forces in the league for a change.

apart from the odd memorable come back games we have had its been for a few seasons now that once the opposition scored the best we could hope for has been an equaliser. in many games we have struggled once the ball gets anywhere near the penalty area never mind an attempt on goal. at least on paper if we do go behind it might not be the end of the day where we might as well go home once it happens.
