My father had to wait 6 hours for an ambulance last night to go to North Tees. That's how these things affect families.

It gets harder with every passing month to get away from the feeling that policing, like the NHS and pretty much everything else we used to take for granted, is slowly falling apart. Another thing that annoys me about this case is appealing for information relating to the incident, yet fail to give us a location, what’s the point of referring to it as being in the ‘Hartlepool area’.?

After my family's experience this year I don't blame the police for doing nothing.

Scumbag managed to talk my 90 year old mum with Alzheimers to give him her cash card to pay him for the "gardening" he'd done for her. He proceeded to take £750 from ATMs locally over the next 2 days before returning the card, all caught on CCTV. Police persisted for 7 months to get CPS to allow him to be charged.

Finally taken to court and he was found guilty after failing to attend twice and having warrants issued against him....... fined £15!

If I were the officer who spent time gathering all the evidence and presenting it, hearing that result, I'd start looking for another job.

The bank did that immediately as they saw the transactions as suspicious once we contacted them. Whether he needed to pay the bank back, I don't know.

The point is you do everything right, get the evidence and the man in court and the punishment is farcical.

I’m just amazed at offenders with multiple offences under their belt and still nothing is done of any consequence….the whole system is as weak as piss and asks to be abused.

One of the problems is the CPS they will not take cases to court unless they think they are sure to win and not let the courts decide.

They should be chipped and every movement recorded.

Some strange sentences.
On radio yesterday a lad got 11 years for putting a firework thru a letter box.
Then 2 months ago that negroe in London got a life sentence for murder but will be out aged 33.

Think the Police rather u knock fuck out of burglars than get them involved.

about time everyone completes the sentence time they were sent down for with additional time given out for bad behaviour rather than ruducing it because you kept your nose clean.

When hanging was banned, after pressure by the then Liberal’s, it was on the understanding that life would mean life for capital crimes.
But, it was diluted so life didn’t mean life and all sentences could be halved
Just out of interest I oppose capital punishment, but a lifetime in solitary would get my approval.

In the US there are currently 1.2 million prisoners locked up at any one time, a staggering figure, just think how much that must cost to keep that lot fed and monitored.

i was never against capital punishment if there was an eye witness to the event but if life did actually mean life would a jury that could include present day do gooders and those be kind brigade actually convict anyone due to it. you know how some fall for every sob story now and shed a few tears when it suits.

this country would find the money from somewhere like it always does do. no one expected all those costs to happen in the covid outbreak but they got paid. like everything i,d be surprised if costs could not be cut in the prison service if those with experiance of it were running the show.

But those Prisons in the US are still making a profit....go figure! Howay Paulus man.
