if i remember correctly it was a lot more than before or after but the circumstances were different. its about the revenue from fans that can be brought in unless the club is being bankrolled where the extra numbers only count for atmosphere. still think there are a few clubs about that would carry on if nobody turned up for games if the owners have enough in their back pockets to keep the vanity project going. back in the better days of the game you would not see pools relegated and a club with half their gates, salford, reaching the play offs. just another part of the modern game that stinks for me.
