I reckon most of us are past caring and just want this season to end so the new one can be planned for. I just hope the players who are picked show that they care about the club and more importantly the supporters.

Stockport 4 Pools 1.

I said this about the Barrow match and I will say the same about the Stockport match. No clue about the result but I am certain Stockport will score. I am hoping Pools can keep it respectable.

2-1 loss Dodds who should imo start as an attacking midfielder.

You’ll have to take your place in the queue.

Just look at the bench Askey would rather play the kids.

Missing in Action

Sterry,Hartley,Niang,Lacey,Murray,Niang,Sylla,Mcdonald,Hastie and Umerah on the bench yes some may well be injured but Christ that's nearly a full team.

I would fear for that team in the conference, never mind League 2. Desperately sad how far we’ve fallen from the team that last played at Edgley Park.

Sterry is ill according to pre match tees info.
Why would he play n risk injury and blow his pay rise move to South Shields.
A club with more ambition than Pools under Sing. :angry-tappingfoot:

One is more than enough. He's rubbish, as is Hastie. They haven't made the bench in months. Hartley, Murray and Lacey haven't been fit to play for ages. Sylla and McDonald don't want to play for Pools even though they're still under contract. Umerah was on the bench (unused sub)

Very odd post. I've got a lot more time for Jack Hamilton, who was up for today and played the full 90 minutes even though it's the last game of his loan spell.

Give Killip a new contract on the back of one excellent game?

How often has he had a game like that, rarely, usually found flapping at an easy cross or hiding on his goal line.

I'm glad some of youse aren't in charge, we'd still have Ritchie Humphreys trotting out every week.

Killip is leaving. He has had one really good game and fans want to give him a contract. He had a bloody good game against us and we signed him on that basis.

I dont think anyone can doubt his commitment but his lack of height counts against him at this level without a couple of huge centre backs.
I am sure he would be a good asset in NLN or NLS.
Good luck to him wherever he goes. I dont think it would be good for him to play second fiddle at Pools.

This is harping back a long time but wasn't one Les Green not all that tall? It certaily helps to be tall as a keeper but it is not essential.

He has always been a good shot stopper but the rest of his game is below average - distribution, command of his box, organising the defence, coming for crosses, decision making are all as important but which he sadly lacks.
Definitely had a great game today, but how many points have Killip errors cost us over the years?
I can't see him going as a 1st choice to any other league club.

I guess if you are good at all of the above you won’t be plying your trade in league 2. He’s been let down by a shambolic defence and the lad who came in hasn’t exactly made a world of difference.

The loaner keeper is way better than Killip, which of the 2 dropped huge bollocks this season?

I am positive when Askey was asked about Killips display in the post match interview he said it’s put him in the shop window. Going by that comment I think it was Killips last game for Pools, Askey giving him a game because of that.

plus he was also let off the hook by the kindness of the linesman after he flapped yet again and the ball went in the net. would not have been happy if that goal had been chalked off for pools.

for me that was his best game he had for us and looked completely knackered by the end. gave their no.31 a torrid time. infact many others put in a good shift and i doubt we would have conceeded as many goals if every game was played in that manner. was it the opposition that helped us as they were hardly a team of giants just relying on set pieces and long throws. thing is we will not be playing teams like that next season but ones who have a tricky little winger who is only 6ft.1 inch.

We have ended the season decently last two games, that should give everyone encouragement that with this guy in charge we can have better times. Obviously we are going to need him to be allowed to sign quality national league players, but he has proven on scraps he can get results.

Watching the reply the Stockport player barged into him, they didn’t protest much when the goal was disallowed.

Agree jamie, it was pure thuggery when seen in the replay, but why didn’t the linesman flag it up without having to be prompted.

Hi, a Cobblers fan here.

Just wanted to express my respect for the way your club approached the last game of the season yesterday despite (sadly) already knowing your season-end fate. After the Bristol Rovers v Scunthorpe shenanigans on the final day last year, both the Pools' and Tranmere's efforts yesterday have restored my faith in the integrity of the league ... i.e. clubs showing 100% effort and commitment across all 46 games.

I am sorry to see you drop down but I am in no doubt that you will rally .. it might be unfair on the likes of Crawley, Sutton, Harrogate etc. but I see you as a real league club. I will always remember a surreal experience when going up to Northampton for the last game of the season a few years ago: I was going up the escalator at Euston Station as hundreds of penguins were descending in the opposite direction, en-route for Crawley Town. I live not far from Dorking and will make a point of coming to stand with you when you play them away.

To a degree we are both yo-yo clubs: I have supported the Cobblers for 43 years and only seen them play in 2 divisions, so there's no doubt we'll be playing each other again soon!

I will follow your progress next season with interest and wish you well for a successful campaign.

Hamilton is an interesting one, I didn’t much rate him at all but he has definitely benefited from a year of league football and improved as he has gone on

Maybe a bit of a Rhys Oates type who turns into a good one, interesting to see where he goes next…

As long as he's not still here, he's far too weak to play as a striker at NL level.

More than welcome. Northampton have always been one of the better southern supported clubs that come to Pools. Got a good little team together, I think you will do well next season.

Thanks for your post Mr Cobbler and your commiserations on our predicament.
I wonder can you explain something that has been troubling me most of the season?
That enigmatic narcissistic bullying buffoon that is Mr Keith Curle.
Although in football management over 20 odd years you are l believe his only real success in terms of promotion on his C.V.
How on gods earth did he take you up?

That performance yesterday annoys me. If it was in there all along we’d be mid table. Had they performed like that last week we’d be safe and Crawley would be returning to the jumpers for
Goalposts league.

That's a bloody good question, King K !!

We were mediocre all season under him, route-one football, ball in the air most of the time. Every loss or poor performance he'd trot out the old 'We go again' and would keep referring to DNA and 'Identity'. We called him Captain Cliche.

We somehow scraped into the last play-off position and then proceeded to play the next 2 and 1/2 games out of character and out of our skins, beating Exeter 4-0 in an empty Wembley. Mind you we had a guy called Callum Morton on fire for those games.

One of our stranger promotions .. which is why I am always nervous about play-offs !
