The big positive going forward now is that Askey remains in charge. I really like the guy and importantly he really appreciates the fan base. He knows what needs fixing so good luck to the guy

think he is the best fit the club has had for years and that includes challinor as well.

Yep, it certainly "feels" right. Like it did for Challinor but not so much for Curle and never for Hartley.

Interesting watching Askeys post match interview and Singhs interview . Something I picked up on that nobody else reported here. Singh stated that Pools would be given more money for recruitment in the conference than they received this season in league 2. However, Askey told us that he would have a smaller budget next season! Did I dream it?

Raj said "The budget will be 1 third higher than the promotion season".

And as someons has already posted it would workout the same taking inflation into account.

The budget when we got promoted was supposedly around the 700k mark, think it was even mentioned by challinor. Singh claims the budget was 1.7 million in league 2 I find that hard to believe, but that's what he says, so if it's a 3rd higher than the promotion season we are looking at around 950 k, a drop of 750k on this season.

exactly. in august we will see with our own eyes whether whatever budget has been waisted or spent wisely. the interesting thing is will he go for experiance, kids or a mixture of both.

Remember Askey has recently spent time in the NLN and NL.
He should therefore be well equipped to put togeather a decent squad.
