I can't find the post of a couple of months ago when there was some discussion on where you do your weekly shopping (probably in a thread that started on next year's holiday and ended up shark fishing or something like that)

Well popped into my local Co-op this morning where I like their instore bakery bread and the yearly bonus had just been announced and mine was £51.63 - decent surprise. Then went round to a new Lidl (opened about 3 weeks ago) and thought their selection and prices were very good - will use them again.

Me and Lidl are like that naughty ex wife you sometimes cant escape and end up back with for a couple of weeks for all the wrong reasons.

their bakery is 10/10 and something alot of other places lack

their middle isle is also something to behold in the summer months - chainsaws - sheds and blow up tents to name but a few mad items on sale

but their fruit and veg is so hit and miss it winds me up - wine selection is also select but what they do have is nice.

was working in Surrey few years back and found their Lidls like most things down there was alot better than ours !

new one in stockton along from yarm road a think it is looks a big one

I use Lidl and Aldi when Fortnam & Masons are closed.

The sour dough baguettes are excellent.

I used to shop in Aldi in Harrogate. My only grief was for single people there wasn’t an alternative aisle so some times you where stuck behind someone who had loads of stuff although the cashiers where quick. Occasionally the person in front would say do you want to go in front but being Harrogate not quite as polite as Poolies.

aldi, lidl are no different to the rest in one respect that there profits will continue to rise as our money gets more worthless. need to shop around as long as its not wasted on costs to do that.
