So, it’s all down to Crawley on Saturday for us, if we don’t win we’re torpedoed.
If this lot can’t win on Saturday in front of a full house, they don’t deserve to stay up, end of story.

You have to say now it wouldn't be a surprise to see them roll over against Crawley, the way this week has gone.

the team need to redescover their scoring touch as everyone knows crawley will score. every club goes through a period of not scoring but hopefully pools run will end on saturday. can be a case of a fraction of an inch one way or the other that a goal goes in avoiding a player trying to block a shot and the difference of a goal or not when the woodwork comes into play.

Luckily Umerah was taken off because with a booking to his credit, I could see his frustration building to a second red card but he did seem muted last night.

Last chance saloon for sure.
Need to attack the 1st half rink end from kick off.
Getting bored with theze no shots on target stats.
Probably lose the toss
Going for a 97th minute winner 2 1.
UTP.

We are in a cesspit full of shit up to our necks and our only hope is being able to reach the snorkel to last a bit longer. Whoever compiled the fixtures for the end of the season was having an engineering laugh. Please tell me it wasn't DC?

Even a win might not be enough. We really need to win and win well. You can't rely on Pools to go to stockport and not get thrashed.

usually you cannot knock his effort even with the bad service he has had all season. last night his head seem to drop and was only interested in a scrap with defenders where the ball came a poor second. just one of those days or an indication he,ll be gone after stockport.

or more like pools will be down and thrash stockport with a penalty, deflected goals, hitting the post and rolling in plus all the other luck we have not had all season rolled into one meaningless game.

Forwards have been poor recently but the defence has been dog shite all season and that is the reason we'll be in the NL next season.

The forwards are only as good as the providers midfield who are non existent most of the time. Midfield and upfront should be joined up and that has been one of the biggest problems of this team. Winning the odd tackle good , making the odd pass good but too many poor passes . Caused by lack of ability, judgement and lack of confidence. We are what we are. Simple as . We really are not good enough for this league I am sorry to say

If a defender wants to fight you or sits tight, You either go wide or drop deep or both continuously.
Try to get the defender into an area exactly where he does not want to be.
Its basic movement, Try to leave a hole for someone to exploit.

one little thing in our favour is at the moment we have not lost at the vic to sides around us in the league and our victories have been against other poor sides on the day. its just we have not had a surprise win like most teams get at least once a season.

We are saving our surprise win until the last day away at Stockport........when we are already relegated banghead banghead

I thought the Swindon win was a surprise and the margin of the Grimsby win was also a big surprise and spawned a lot of false hope.

Unless Challinor plays his reserves we will lose at Stockport, it is just a question of by how many. Realistically, it wont matter. Even if he does play his reserves we would still struggle.

As I said in another post Stockport could be in contention for an automatic promotion place when they play Pools.

Isn't HOPE a wonderful thing?

Mine are quite simple;

1) New Owner
2) JA to stay as Manager
3) Champions next season (Cleverly not mentioning in what League)

Not much to ask really - What's yours?

Number 2 undoubtedly.
Number 1, yes, but….. easier said than done! despite what some may say.
Number 3, Just once, just fecking once in my life I’d like to hear ‘We are the Champions’ being sung at the Vic by a full house…Ah well sadx .

Finney and McDonald need to impact the game the same as they did in previous games where they have been a nuisance and goal threat. Hopefully Umerah has shaped up and wants to play and Kemp doesnt go missing - really want Jennings to get back on the score sheet too as the kid deserves it and what a game it would be for him to win it for us !

Crawley are shite like propa shite - ive watched them a few times these last few weeks and how they kept Andy Cook from scoring is literally about the only decent thing i seen of them. Their keeper is dodgy - their bench is god aweful and they seem to have one tricky player who does too much at the wrong time and cant hit a shot straight to save his life !

we are the better team with the better players but this is football and anything can happen - this is both teams cup final so to speak !

we cannot afford anything silly this weekend - no sending offs - no rash tackles in the box.... our luck is non existent anymore. That hands been played and we still are no better off.

i just hope we get the run of something for a change that impacts the game for a win for us ! (like Grimsby penalty) (Stevenage hand ball) !

Cant argue with your summary of Crawley because I cant claim to have seen them play except in the occasional highlights clip. You have shared your your opinion. The fact is they keep picking up enough wins to quite possibly send us down. In your opinion Pools are better than Crawley but the league table provides factual evidence that this is not the case. Saturday will provide some sort of proof one way or another. I suspect Crawley are poor but Pools are worse. I hope I am proved wrong.

cannot see a crawley fan who has watched pools a few times throwing compliments at us. two poor sides who are where they are on merit with possibly little to choose between em. we know the obvious problems we have so they must be weak in certain areas and hope our staff have been able to spot their problem. pools problem is its so obvious and happens every game and not just the odd one. i,d be practising corners, set pieces and long throw ins all week if i was them. our best chance will be if they are crap at all three on the day.

The key point is that the league table does not lie and is the sole arbiter on what team is better than another because it looks strictly at the numbers which cannot be disputed unlike, say, the quality of the football being played. As the world can see, the league table says that Pools are the second worst team in the Football League and Crawley are the third worst. It will be difficult/nigh on impossible for Pools to change this in the remaining three fixtures.

The league table doesn’t lie over the entire season…,BUT…….. it can’t anticipate teams finding form at the end of the season and saving their necks, the table only reflects results at that point in the season….it doesn’t reflect the true table till the last match of the season.
