I wasn't there and seriously doubt that many were. Did it even go ahead? I was mad keen on music at the time and got my Melody Maker and NME every week, but it's not ringing any bells.

Arrival is the only group on the bill that I remember. They had a couple of hits around then, but I wouldn't have crossed the road to see them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZzJlZ_9De4. Lacey top suits you sir!

50p sounds cheap, but I saw Lindisfarne, Genesis and Van Der Graf Generator on a triple bill for 40p at Newcastle City Hall a year later.

Yes I was there and as a whole was very enjoyable, somewhere I have an ep record of a couple of the groups. If I remember rightly the stage was attached to the front of the old wooden stand. Brass alley and Lucas Tyson were two of the most popular north eastern bands at the time. Arrival were very poor and were a one hit wonder they were not going down well and were taken off and Brass Alley came back on. If you look on you tube there is parts shown still.

Yes, I was there and remember there being only about 500. Didn 't wait for Arrival who headed the bill and went home. Not a good year for Pools either.

I was 9 Yr old and remember it.
Lived on York Road and obviously didn't go but remember playing on the tips and hearing the music.
Think older brother may have had a copy of ep.

I watched Arrival on you tube yesterday on totp. I didn’t like the song and don’t remember it or them. Not really good singers either. Now Dock Rock I seem to remember going too

I remember Dock Rock abysmal failure, think it was organised by the Council which just about sums it up hopefully the Tall Ships this time round will not lose money.
