We don't ever seem to beat Swindon or very rarely, Saturday has to be the day we change that.

thing is pools have never beaten anyone regularly in over 100 years. doubt there are any club that classes pools as their bogy team.

I think that the nearest we come to being a bogey team is for Yeovil. (Excluding National League), we have played them 20 times, won 10, drawn 4 and lost 6.

Not sure of the actual stats but over my 32 years of watching pools we often seem to do well against Torquay,Exeter, Yeovil and Orient (mainly at home). Usually seem to struggle against scunny, Northampton and many more.

As usual, there's a site for that sort of thing  Pools' overall record against Swindon ain't bad, but since we came back up they've won 3 out of 3 - but that was against Lee's losers and Curle's chokers. See how they do against Askey's aces

they were for the last 20 minutes. before that orient had a slight edge which aint bad when we were playing a side 5 points clear at the top. swindon need a win to keep up their fading play off chances so it could play into our hands. one thing they attempt to play football on the deck so i doubt we,ll get in an arm wrestle like we get against some of the others.

Pools 1-0 Umerah. Oates destroys Creepy Crawley at Field Mill. The sun comes out and The Seagull at Crimdon re-opens and Paulus dances naked all the way down through the railway arch to the beach to celebrate!

The Seagull shut down????

Another fond memory of youth shattered. It had a licence to print money back in the 60s and 70s when my parents had a caravan at Crimdon.

If the caravan parks bought it I can’t see it ever re-opening as they have a large complex with swimming pool on site, you don’t compete against yourself.

start sharp like we did in the last 20 of the Orient game - get them on the backfoot - take the early lead and protect it.

the place will be bouncing and most finally hoping for that win !

get Mcdonald on again in the 2nd half and hopefully see another goal

Nothing but a win will do us, got to go for it as If their lives depend on it, a draw and that's game over, the fat lady's banging out the vocals and it's the league of Doom here we come.

Just for once in over a hundred years can we actually do something that blows us out of the water and exceeds expectations. Having won 6 in 38 I don't know how we can get 6 wins out of 8 but miracles do sometimes happen. Hartleblue has it spot on. I think we have the right man in charge but can't help feeling that the Graeme Lee appointment was the start of our fall from grace. Who in their right mind thought he could do a job.

look back at the early days of his appointment and you,ll read that some saw him as an improvement on challinor. for every single good appointment made we have had 10 bad ones to suffer.

Graeme Lee was a mistake camouflaged by the Cup runs, but he’d never managed a league team before and it’s a big leap from Academy football with the kids to dealing with professionals. When the Cup run finished we nose dived… his interviews did little to inspire.
Realistically we should have had a manager in immediately to prepare for this season…but we were promised a Messiah, a late Messiah…who was no such thing, just a disappointment.

I was talking about the Seagull the other day. How long has it been closed...... 25 years?

Those interviews. Don't think I've ever seen someone who was more uncomfortable. Only knows how he performed at interview. Curle was a bit more articulate but was probably worse as a manager.

Pretty poor performance from Pools so far. End product no good. Swindon having most of the play. We are allowing them too much time on the ball. We need to be playing higher up the pitch. Good goal from them to be fair. We are still looking like a conference side I’m afraid. Big improvement needed second half.

Lots of huffing and puffing but no serious threat from Pools. No idea where a goal could come from up to now.

At least Crawley are 3 down which at the end of the season might prove invaluable in goal difference.

Crawley at moment -21 whilst we are -27 so it is gradually closing.

We’re now a point behind Crawley and you have to base your thinking on that simply because if we don’t beat Crawley we’re definitely fooked.
