Taken from another forum: Orient poster.

Rumours down here that our game away at Hartlepool is in doubt for the international break weekend - We've apparently had three players called up for International Duty:

Omar Beckles (Granada)
Ed Turns (Wales U21)
Paul Smyth (Northern Ireland)

Which means we can request a postponement.

Big boot in the balls for our fans who've booked onto the train for that day going up there, Grand Central have just made a tone of money which they won't refund........

Fingers crossed they keep
It on, Beckles is a 'lovely lovely person' but effective and I thought Smyth was their best player when they beat us earlier in the season

We cudent beat a depleted Northampton team.
So dont see a depleted Orient being any different.
Plus weve returned to anutha serious dose of home sickness.
Reality n Pessimism bring these poor results as hope dosent work.

know its the rules that teams can cancel games in the international break but you cannot cancel if you have 3 out injured or suspended. whats squads for and pools have been far worse off for players in games with kids on the bench.

like others have stated - we couldnt capitalise on the Northampton B team and keep the 1-0 lead so LO having an off day with players missing wont make any sodding difference either

i dread to think what the score would of actually been had they had their best 11

yes we look better and yes we have better players available but when we cant put to bed teams who arnt 100% it just makes me think where are we actually at in this league in terms of ability - its a true reflection to our league position surely

I cant see anymore hammerings coming our way but i also cant see us giving anyone a hammering either - really need some 3 pointers soon or come 2 weeks time i think its curtains for sure !

Obviously Northampton have a squad more than capable of carrying injuries or they would have slumped before now
So hardley depleated.
A sign of how well we were doing 1st half was their system change to match ours.

Trevor Carson was called to bench warm for Northern Ireland a couple of times. If I remember rightly.

I believe David Edgar was put into a provisional Canada squad, yet didn't even make the bench.

I might be wrong here but I believe that Peter Beardsley and Ray Kennedy might have got the odd cap between them.

Sadly, long before they played for Pools. Amby Fogarty got full international caps for Ireland while he was playing for Pools - 60 years ago.

hardly a team of unknowns put out and players playing in other positions like we have suffered this season. lost possibly 5 points in the 2 games against harrogate because of that.

Anymore update on this? The game is 10 days away and the only free slot Orient now have is the final week of the season.

There's nothing on Orient's website - you'd think if it was anything more than a rumour on social media they'd have been in touch with Pools and the EFL and made an announcement by now. Could be waiting to see if they pick up a load of injuries in their game with Colchester this weekend, I suppose.

Yeh I wonder what sort of notice period they have to give?

Those 3 players appear to be players who start regularly in the first 11, playing them without them could be significant.

Likewise moving the game to the final week of the season would also be significant.

Sure Gordon Simms(remember him) was called up a few times for Northern Ireland u21s whilst at pools. Not sure if zaine Francis Angol was called up for Antigua and Barbuda while at pools.

Looks like Orient won't have the opportunity to postpone the game:

Omar Beckles (Grenada) - can't find any official confirmation but he hasn't played for Grenada in the past few games

Ed Turns (Wales U21) - called up to Wales U21 squad so will miss our game

Paul Smyth (Northern Ireland) - not called up to NI squad

So only one of the three called up, Omar Beckles may well get a call up which is two players away for international duty - not enough to postpone the game.

always wonder if these players would prefer playing a league game for their clubs especially those who gain honours for international sides because of say a grandparent was born there but never visited the country themselves. bet there are many english born poolies who have the right to play for another country but never been there also.

Well, this one has come back to bite Pools on the backside. Turns out Edon Pruti is named in the Albania U-21 squad for their games against Azerbaijan and Poland. Askey is trying to persuade their authorities that Pruti will get more benefit from playing for us in the League than joining the squad. Bet they've never heard that one before!

Might do Pruti a favour giving him a break.

He gives 100% and is a decent young player, but hes been struggling, poor distribution at times and gets caught on the ball.

Take him out of the firing line and put Foran or Dolan in.

Really was disgusting, Even the normal colchester fans were disgusted by the chants.
Below is a comment from an Orient fan, On another forum.

"Really, really want colchester to go down after their disgraceful chants on saturday.

Use to be a proper lower league club with Layer Road but what is the point of them now with their grim motorway lay-by ground and bleak fanbase.

Send them down and keep proper clubs like Rochdale & Hartlepool up please."
