Saw this on the TV…apparently the average IQ in the US has dropped for the first time ever and the biggest drop is in 18 to 25 year olds.
A TV crew questioned students at a top University and asked them several basic general knowledge questions

1 What is the capital of the US.
2. What two countries border the US.
3. Work out this maths problem 2x2 +1 =?
4 . Where does the Queen of England live.
None could answer the questions correctly……then the interviewer asked them to name all the Kardashian’s …..everyone got that question 100% correct.

My mate lives in the States he has made a shed load of money from the Yanks. He had his 1 man band Electrical company, he tried employing Yanks but gave up in the end,I went over a few times and helped him out. One yank said to me he had relatives who lived near the U.K., where I asked, Australia was his reply !

Someone I know is trying to buy a share in a project, the person he’s buying it off has agreed the sale oh his share but there has to be a year before the deal can be finalised. true. if its not pop culture or celebs our lot are as bad. mind you are they as bad as many of their elders are. i do a monthly quiz at our over 50,s group and none of em knew which ruler proceeded victoria to the throne. none of em knew it was william the 4th but at least her son was not named as i have heard before.

The general knowledge of anyone under 30 is abysmal, even the Lineker nonsense reveals a shocking lack of historic context. We live in an age of Celebrity, the triumph of froth and jibber over the realty of life.
Stopped doing quizzes when mobile phones became widespread, nearly as annoying as those quiz teams who turned up to win every time…. a light hearted pleasure ruined.

they are the ones that go from pub to pub winning everything and change a few members when they get sussed and banned. i stopped going for the same reason but beat the sods once when the questions fell our way. what happened next was i was asked to join em on their next quiz. answered no as it would have felt like supporting the likes of man.city glory hunters.
