How come the Club/Curle come out and say who we are not in for IE: Walker

Yet won,t utter a word who we are in for, Its no secret these players are
Available, Agents will have touted them to anyone interested.

And with regard to players not wanting to locate to the NE as an excuse is
insulting to supporters.

Any player given the right incentive will move just about anywhere(except Carlisle of course thats a given)
And to say we won,t be held to ransom by players is a cop out, imo.

We should expect to have to pay extra to bring a player here that should be accepted and
Not used as an excuse, And again we are sure enough told this by the club.

FFS.

I think carlisle have signed a stack of players, so this old line of players won't come is total rubbish. If that's the case how in earth did boro ever get ravenelli junino Emerson etc. If you pay big money players will pretty much go anywhere. It's just an inbuilt excuse for another dire transfer window. Location probobly never helps Northern clubs but considering about 50 clubs are northern there is more than enough to gather a good team together.

The held to random one is bollocks….you make an offer and they give you their price for signing…it’s called negotiating, that’s how the system works. It’s called the going rate.
‘Being held to ransom’ is a poor cover for saying we weren’t going to pay the money.
NOT the fault of the player your trying to sign.l
It makes the player sound like Dick Turpin the Highwayman.

So many issues here - agents, clubs trying to get the best price, players trying to get the best deal, agents, Raj wanting to spend as little as possible (which is fair so long as it is from a reasonable starting point), managers being hung out to dry..........

Every transfer window we get this excellent striker we are after. First it was the lad that went to Chesterfield, a northern club, then it was Armstrong, he goes to a northern club, now its Johnson, the club has set its stall oui in the first 20 days of January, the usual desperate resigning of old players, the usual boro loanee then, as it gets closer to the end of the window, it's we wont be held ransom or players wont come north. We'll for the thick buggers running the club your about to lose 1500 fans a week, about 2 million in efl money etc. I suggest it get out there and make something happen, ou have us in this mess pay some money and get us out of it.

Whatever we pay, it won’t be as expensive as relegation.

true apart from having to pay extra to bring a player to pools and having to live in the area. they do not need to actually live in the town where like most places there is good and bad areas anyway. its not as if we are someone like leyton orient paying london type wages due to everything down there being so more expensive especially housing. what wage they will get will go much further up here than most other places.

There's plenty of decent places to live in Hartlepool, and if that isn't good enough for them then theres Wynyard etc just up the road.
Its just a lame excuse if they don't sign because they don't like the area.

the majority of players live in yarm - used to have flats on marina - durham anyways - i doubt there is a single one anymore (apart from Hartley and Dolan) who actually live in the town

That is the bottom line.

The new owner of Gillingham said when he was told of the figures relegation would cost, He realised they had to act fast.

Not his exact words, But near enough.

Other clubs are finding it difficult too...
Newport County manager Graham Coughlan has branded the League Two transfer window as "crazy."

Coughlan made his first signing with the recruitment of midfielder Harry Charlsley from Port Vale on an 18 month deal.

County are keen to bolster again before the window closes on January 31.

"I have never seen a transfer window in League Two with as much riches and as much finance floating about," said Coughlan.
