RIP. Even though England were at home in 1966 I remember as a kid there was huge excitement that Pele was coming here as part of the Brazil team. An all-time great.

Knew was he was ill for some time, but still came as a surprise, legends have a legacy that lives on RIP.

the first non british player to be a household name after the 1958 world cup. cannot remember anyone having a bad word said about him. will be remembered far longer than todays plastic legends who,ll be forgotton quicker than yesterdays chip paper.
