possibly the quiet man of the side that we heard the least about. a one club man also which will be rarer than a world cup winners medal as the years go on.

Watched him, along with Bobby Moore, at Craven Cottage a few times in the mid 70's. 2 stalwarts of the 66 World Cup.

The one thing players that the likes of George Cohen and Ray Wilson had that’s in short supply today is dignity and modesty.

ah ray wilson a player who in the late 70,s turned out for outland in the huddersfield sunday league. can you imagine for a second any of todays non tournament winners ever doing that without the press and tv cameras being there. he was just another player in that side that also included len white.
