I noticed today that Nobby Stiles son and a ‘group’ of other players families are to sue the FA over brain injuries caused by heading the ball.
As this must go back to the sixties/ seventies, there was no great outcry at the time over heading the ball, which is a recent development.
Is it possible to go back with these claims?

The concern is that if they win this case, the floodgates will open, and football will be bankrupted by compensation claims.

I can't remember that short a*se doing much if any heading.

Would think there could be claims against him with his nickname of "bite your legs"?

What a stupid compo world we live in.

I think you will find "Bites yer legs" was Norman Hunter of Leeds United's Don Revie team.

This is my concern too. What next, no tackling as this could be dangerous, surely a back dated payout will be due to knights families for jousting injuries in the 12th Century..

when will this claim thing end. there will be ex players whose job was to head the ball more than others. some will suffer brain injuries in later life whilst others will have had no problems whatsoever. like any job there are risks but no one forces people to play football at any level. years of uncomfortable bus cabs with bad seating has given me a bit of a back problem as they were designed for midgets but its just life and i make the best of it. think thousands ever saturday would swap places with players even if they did get a brain injury in later life. at least it would keep em out of the shuffling dead of a care home.

When you think of all those great players who have given pleasure to millions and (these days) been well rewarded, you wonder if they would still have done it if they had known what we know now? Question gets even more difficult when you get to lower league players who have a career in the game but never get rich. Would they have chosen a different career?

To be fair, the footballs they were heading back in the 60’s was a heavier heftier piece of kit than the beach balls they use now.

I demand compo,i headed the ball away several times during our defeat in the 1970 Lord Londonderry cup final at Lintz cricket ground. I believe this contributed to my shrunken weiner in later life.

Was it the look of your ginger hair in the mirror that pushed you to make the claim in the first place snowy?
