I thought Eddy Kyle was unfair on Killip. He did nothing wrong. The first goal was caused again not for the first time by non existent marking. We had 5 defenders and they had 4 players on goal and at least 3 of there men could have scored that goal . Keith curle in his post match interview talked not for the first time about accountability and self responsibility. He says he keeps telling them but they take no notice. This is just basic defending , man marking being self aware communicating with your colleagues. Where are the leaders in the defence , why can’t you organise yourselves. If we keep giving way soft goals we have no chance . For F””c sake can’t the trainer inbed the basics. There are too many players lacking confidence, play the easy option
And are just coasting . I’m sorry it ain’t good enough. If you continually express bad habits you become negative. The second goal wasnt Killip fault either, he was unlucky. Again defenders and midfielders just ball watching. What was Featherstone doing. Keith Curle comes across as a guy with reasonable intelligence but his instructions are just not being orchestrated.
What’s wrong with these players are they stupid, are they scared off him. It’s not rocket science to do the basics. Didn’t agree with Curle that we played well in the second half but we did in the last 10 minutes. Why wait 80 minutes. The majority of the squad are just not at the races . And the new midfielder . I felt sorry for him . Thrown to the lions as he has never played league 2 football after Curle said he would only bring in players who have experience of this league. Just full of contradictions!

Curle totally lost the plot with that team selection.
Fully deserves to not get past his 6 months Probation period.

I can’t disagree, Curle hasn’t done anything to inspire me, West his assistant has been around his only success was when Turner was here.
Could any manager make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, I always go back to some one like Danny Wilson or some one like him.

Killip has a long record of cock ups and poor ‘management’ of his goalmouth, for want of a better word. This has been going on for a long time and should have been remedied long ago but never has, which is shocking in itself. An indecisive keeper spooks defenders which only adds to the confusion…their is no structure to this team, just individuals without a game plan.
He really shouldn’t have been playing today after Carlisle…… and the new keeper brought in now we have competition for places, ….and I’m rapidly losing faith in Curle and his bizarre team selections and even odder tactics.

Killip should have been sold after the Playoff season. As we won't of won the playoffs with Killip in goal. Brad James was the keeper and kept us in the game against Bromley. Killip would have made a flapper cock error and handed the game to Bromley. Killip has, always been Non-League standard, in my opinion. Curle has lost my support, as soon as I saw the team sheet. I said we lost this game.

We sign a keeper to replace him because thats what is needed.
And then we dont replace him.
Totally bizarre.

When keepers appear to be arguing with their own fans behind the goal, you have a serious problem.

Not that I condone it, but he turned and said something after ironic cheers from the Town End when he actually caught a cross.

If this lad from Leicester doesn't start next week against Donny we may as well just send him back.

Or they have the serious problem. Just for 1 minute imagine the shit that has been shouted at him from just yards away whilst trying his best, (yes not too good recently), but imagine how that lad feels!

Fuck knows what Killip has done to Kyle but he is obsessed with him.
No goalkeeper is perfect at this level and killips weakness is on crosses , but the defence yday with one guy is particular was abject in the needless free kicks given away and the marking in the box.

I would probably try the new keeper given killips recent performances and confidence, but some people on here are expecting the love child of courtois and Bufon to end playing for them…same sort of people who come up with shite like you should never hit the first man on a cross…over simplified bullshit

No, not expecting a ‘Courtois or Buffon’…just a competent keeper at this level.

Come on, ironic criticism has been shouted at goalies since the Flintstones Premiership was around, but turning on your own crowd is a no no as nothing good ever comes of it.
Most importantly do they have just cause, some people have been saying he’s about to blossom for the past few seasons…… still waiting.

Eddie Kyle tells it as it is.
I like his style n knowledge of how football works.
What do you want him to do lie n say Killip is brilliant and plays no part in our imminent Relegation.

And you should never hit the 1st man on a cross.
Especially from corners n freekicks.

Bullshit  violin

We recalled Boyes, why was he never given a chance, I suspect he will go back out on loan after signing the new keeper.

his get out of jail card has always been that other keepers make mistakes and do not cover themselves with glory. think the sheffield united keeper against wrexham yesterday was quite killipesque in his performance. know its years ago when frank worthington was the manager of tranmere who was looking for a keeper. he wanted a steady lad who did the simple basics correct and not one who saved a good penalty one minute and cocked things up the next.

Killip is National League level at best, probably lower, we signed him from a relegated Braintree side who shipped 80 goals that season, should've been warning enough, amazing really, Killip defender's blamed Hartley's shite defence for his performances, now we've changed the entire backline they're STILL blaming the defence, there's only one constant and it's the clip in goal.
