Let’s hope he sticks around or we only have 1 keeper, in fairness Killip seems to have a good relationship with him and he’s improved I think this year so one positive from this shit show !

lets hope murray sticks around....cos if he goes that will leave us with only 2 recognised central defenders in the squad till jan..assuming there is no crap still hanging around in the free agent market

if there are free agents still around they must be a reason why they still are. either they are past it, crap or still holding out for a stupid wage or contract. might or might not have hit lucky with maguire but he was a free agent for other reasons.

I would think there are some decent experienced CBs (free agents), Getting them to come to pools (money) is a differant matter.

There's nothing to stop a free agent signing a short-term deal, as Ryan Johnson did 2 years ago. Signed for a month at the end of September, ended up staying till the end of the season.

Any free agent with half a brain (or his agent) should realise that being out of football for 6 months isn't a good look on the cv, however talented they think they are.

there is currently a few CB/Defensive free agents kicking about - 2 played league one football last season aswell - wonder if Raj was keeping back some cash just incase this scenario panned out - highly doubt he wanted PH to waste anymore cash - hence the no more signings... we can live in hope - Maguire looks set to never even pull on a Pools shirt in anger so thats buggered us. Hopefully Curle works his magic !

also even if we got a lad coming back from Injury who just wanted some game time (albeit a League standard player, free agent) - giving him a trial and a chance wouldnt hurt even on a month to month basis -like stated we have seen this happen before

I must admit that the thought that Raj drew a line under giving Hartley any more funds has crossed my mind.

If there is a free agent centre half who played conference level last year and he’s worse than Murray he should be put in a museum

I suggested the same thing when Hartley got the bullet on Sunday - but that was during the official period of mourning

And here is a helpful list of League 2 free agents - great to see Jordan Cook's name is on it so he's only training with us, he's not contracted!

and for League 1

Injury prone or had a few persistent injuries? Jamie Sterry and Joe Grey have had several spells out during Pools' winless run. Guess if it continues till the end of the season they might get branded 'injury prone' but maybe they're just pig sick of playing for numpties?

well he found some money last january from somewhere for spike to use. seems clubs find money for new managers after it was turned off for the old one. as for maguire, whats the problem thats delaying his debut.

I actually am expecting Sterry and Ferguson to have good games Saturday--they have both looked sick as fuck with the shite they have had to play with and tactics adopted--our relative strength in this league are our wing/fullbacks and laughable Hartley was dropping them both--shows just how much the wheels had come off in the last weeks

I think they were both a little shell shocked at the garbage that had been brought in and the clueless approach of the manager--am expecting a big boost in their morale now he's gone.
