Would it be possible to introduce a thumbs up or thumbs down for posts, not every one likes to reply but it would be useful to see how many people agree or disagree with a post.

I think that would be an excellent idea though I have only be on here just over eight months so I am not sure how much my opinion counts.

Your opinion counts as much as the next man in theory at least. In practice this place can be as fickle as the next. The quality of what is posted is sometimes overshadowed by the poster's popularity or lack of it and that brings me to say that, whereas thumbs up or down appears to be a good idea, it can also be divisive. People will put thumbs up to a mate or someone they like and the reverse to someone they don't like.
Then, instead of posts being individual opinions, it becomes cliquish or even a team game.
Just something to consider before the plunge is taken.
We've had cliques on here before and have had incidences where "ganging up" occurs.
It is only natural that people will have their favourite posters and also others that they can't stand.
The important thing is to remember we're all on here because we're Poolies and all should defend each other's right to an opinion, even though we may disagree with that opinion.
The trick is to debate it in as best a polite and civil manner as you can.

Thumbs up and down can be manipulated to suit a viewpoint by those that are way way inclined. All they do is polarise opinion and eventually aggravate people.
Populist opinions aren’t always the solution to problems.
