Pools have scored from a corner today! Yes, Crawford headed a goal against Lincoln from a Shelton corner kick. Would you believe it?

How are they playing note the Lincoln goal came after a good save must clear the direct area after saves other wise the follow up will result in a goal . Even Marske had a text commentary today - nothing.

I'm just following the game on Official Hartlepool Twitter. Details very sparse but they did say the goal was a Crawford header from a corner.

I agree have been looking at twitter but as Mr Saltburn has said only sporadic posts where as the Marske game had a better text commentary. Would have been a good gesture to show these games on you yube as Hibernian did.

As this a game against decent opposition you would have thought the club and associated media would have tried to raise its profile to some degree. I am hoping one or two of our regulars attended the game so we get some information about it. I wonder how Umerah did against a League One defence? How did the trialist get on against a proper defence? How did we play in general?

oz..."I wonder how Umerah did against a League One defence?"

"Much of the focus for Pools supporters will have been on new striker Umerah who was given 90 minutes in his first start for the club.
And the 25-year-old made a strong start, coming close to scoring when Rushworth pushed his effort around the post.
Umerah displayed his physical presence throughout the afternoon up against Adam Jackson and made some thoughtful runs into the half-spaces providing a decent platform to build on."

Thanks. That's the Mail's perspective but I am wondering if any Bunker members were at the game. The authentic voice of a Poolie is something I always value.

I enjoyed the game considering it was only pre season lincoln went all out to win the game and to pools credit the only shot they had was scoring their goal from a shelton mistake.
Pools shape was good allways some one to pass to and moved the ball around well enough to cause problems.
Wont go thro player by player however hastie is a dangerous player very direct.
Umere looks good very mobile and strong shoots at an given opportunity
Finished the game with 10 men nobody else to bring on how ever looking at today if hartley adds a few more players with pace we should have a good team to watch.

poolie,

Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking time to post this. I like your thorough but concise description of went on at the Vic today. Your comments on some of the players were very useful too. Dunno if you will be able to reply but if you do, what was your impression of the trialist (Tollitt), who came on in the 2nd half. I gather he looked good against Synthonia and Marske but how did he fare against a League One defence?

thanks ozzy the trialist was not tollitt he was a small fast tenacious forward so no idea who he was
I forgot to mention sena alltho playing out of position as centre half you would have thought it was timi but a stronger version.
Like i say it was only a freindly how ever it was non stop so fingers crossed going forward like us poolies do ever season and hope we have a good team good to watch and hope for the best

Is that the same Adam Jackson we had on loan from Boro? From what I recall he was a decent defender back then

Sounds positive. Upwards and onwards!

it is, but some will have had a sleepless night because of that plus a goal from a corner. know its only a friendly but its still only a friendly if pools had been hammered though.
