The full draw is completed tomorrow morning when we get to know which U-21 side is in our group. Newcastle would be great for gate receipts but Liverpool, Man U or Man C wouldn't be bad either.

So it'll be Everton again :(

The club website is no longer updated, only the clubs Twitter is.

We are guaranteed 2 home games in this competition because the U21s play their games away from home. Morecambe at home with Harrogate away would probably be the best draw, with Newcastle at home.

Sadly, our current media manager isn't a patch on Mark Simpson. I thought he did well as a volunteer during the Covid hit season but I think he should be doing better now he is on the payroll. The official site should be the go to place to find out everything.

Yes, he's dreadful isn't he, same old , same old when he does actually do something, his interviews with new players etc are basically the same, he put's out little original content, most of it copied from other clubs, he panders to the NWC just a little too much too, i know he's only young but he's still pretty poor.
Mark Simpson has just left Barrow, i doubt he would but i'd love to see him back at Pools, maybe even to mentor Chandy.

All he cares about is "banter" on twitter and not the club itself.

problem was that mark simpson was such a hard act to follow. thought chandy might have cracked it but now have severe doubts. if mark did come back it would be heralded as our big pre season signing.

Mark was a hard act to follow, I totally agree but to me it is the basics that are going awry. I think the Official site should be updated with everything going on. Our Papa John draw has been pushed out on Twitter but nothing on the official site at the moment.

The club have launched a Business Club. One of the benefits is a logo on the official site that links to a companies website. Can't see that being much of a benefit unless you get people looking at the OS. If basic info is not posted there then people are going to look less and less.

well we bossed basically the same group last year - albeit in there with one of the teams who got far in the comp like we did. Think Harrogate mate the 1/4s beat by Sutton.

what are the odds to get 2 of last years teams in the same group

accy.."problem was that mark simpson was such a hard act to follow. thought chandy might have cracked it but now have severe doubts. if mark did come back it would be heralded as our big pre season signing."

..a potential big pre season signing?.. nah not for me ..simpson was a middle aged mildly amusing bloke down the pub type of media manager..and good pals with all the "lads"..and i have no problem with chandy ..he's a young lad starting out... concentrates on the clubs social media channels just like at other clubs ..all aimed at targeting the younger element of the fanbase..fair enough makes sense..and most of his stuff is pretty slick from my non professional perspective..ive seen a lot lot worse that's for sure..suppose he could spend less time on the birthday stuff and more on acknowledging ex players who have passed on..but that's a minor point really...overall i like his pre and post match interviews.. although his questioning could be shorter less rambling and bit more to the point..the clubs twitter and facebook feeds are updated several times every single day with information and all sorts of content..but the o/s site is being neglected?..personally couldn't give a flying f/k tbh..

Never, ever go on the OS…a bit like the football equivalent of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
But, whatever people prefer, is their business.

could be an age thing from me then, where possibly what us over 65,s want is far different from the younger lot.
