Won’t be watching it, the suits have killed it. What was a family ritual akin to the Grand National, now a flexible fixture at the whims of the market.

Its only a curtain raiser for the main event: The Women's Cup Final. Ask any BBC employee.

With Lineker’s sleep inducing analysis. I’d rather herd cats in a dog’s home.

I think I've said on here before, but it's crazy to think for countless decades you only had four or so very limited chances to play at Wembley.

You had the FA Cup, England Internationals, League Cup, Amateur Cup, and the Community Shield if you don't count that as a friendly. Sometimes those games weren't even at Wembley.

Today, you have the FA Trophy, FA Sunday Cup, 3 playoff finals, two FA Cup semi finals, and several years ago Tottenham played a full season there.

That for me, has indirectly killed the "magic of the Cup".  Wembley doesn't feel like a big deal like it did for years.

having 2 of the so called big clubs usually getting there plus the semi being played at the same place finished it for me. never watched one for years and cannot see me doing it any time soon unless you get say a wolves v palace type game. even then i,ll watch it on ITV to avoid big ears.

We didn’t get to Wembley in 2005 because they were building the place so we had to go Cardiff.
Whereas your trip was the end of George’s ‘Voyage to the Stars’ and the dream crashed and burned.

C’mon Baz, it’s Darlo whichever way you look at it, they’ve had more identities than Lord Lucan.

could have been the last game played at wembley before they redeveloped it. know there must have been a good reason to go to that game rather than watching those two clubs.

Last game at old Wembley was England 0-1 Germany - Kevin Keegan's last game as manager.

You’ve had your answer, but it’s not playing at Wembley that counts, it’s winning at Wembley.

Don’t bother Mr D …bless him, he doesn’t realise he’s in the ‘David Hodgson Maximum Security Home for the Confused and Gullible’. There’s no hope and he keeps thinking he’s on the Bunker message board.
Remember him in your prayers , cos he can’t, he’s away with the fairies.

Ok Bishop Auckland, but the point was every one horse Cup game is played there so the elitist nature of the place has had the edge taken off it.

Personally i,d have re furbed the old wembley and have built a national stadium somewhere south of birmingham close to the motorways and west coast mail line with adequate car parking that would make getting there easily if your are unlucky and not live inside the northern part of the M25.

The new super dooper Wembley is basically a larger version of every other blingy Premiership gin palace with knobs on (and in). That big handle on the top makes it look like a huge deep fat fryer.

And if we took out the name ‘Wycombe’ and replaced it with ‘Hartlepool’ and a roughly similar crowd would you want Sunderland to win? sctatchinghead
Sunderland are just another team to me, so let the best team on the day win.

Good to see York moving up, but can it ever be the same without Bootham Crescent, toilets apart that is.

Their new ground is awful. Soulless, surprisingly challenging to find, overpriced, struggles with even smallish crowds and has stewards that'd make the gestapo embarrassed.

You can tell its been a case of facilities first, sports teams later.

heard parking is a problem as well. its not like going to bootham by train with a ten minute walk after getting off. i,d keep the away end toilets just to go back there again instead of what could be a nightmare of getting to another flat pack stadium.

It’s one of those ‘wonderful’ all singing all dancing Community stadiums were atmosphere is optional in the brave new world of sheet metal and breeze block sports ‘arena’s.
I suppose the old site at Bootham Park will have been sold off to developers to erect more expensive little boxes with character features for the up and coming who can afford them.
I wouldn’t fancy buying the Gin Palace built on the site of the away end urinals, you’d never get rid off the odour, even radiation fallout has a shorter shelf life.

At Bootham Park, down the A19, Park and Ride, never, ever had a problem with it.
