Has anyone got a spare £250,000?

There is a beach hut in Southwold (Suffolk) that has no electricity, no running water and you cannot stay in it overnight, for sale for the "small" sum of £250,000

Has the world gone crazy?

Yes.
Southwold has turned into a pretentious little hell hole… bit like Wells next the Sea.

Think its to do will all the publicity the place gets. Not a bad little place really but if you are into amber jewellry keep away and your cash in your pocket as its unbelievably overpriced as the place is famous for it. way the haves behave in this country then 250k will be thought of as a snip for them to tell all and sundry about their beach huts location. As for wells goodness knows what people think of the place where if unfit you need to catch a little train to the beach.

The beach huts at Wells are a canny price too, when you get down there it’s like Dunkirk minus being dive bombed by the Luftwaffe…. Very crowded.

not being one for the beach as the rest of the family weren,t i made the biggest mistake of my life by going there on the bus from hemsby as i wanted a day off from driving. nearly 5 hours to kill there before the bus came back. what made it worse they decided to allocate one of my hated leyland nationals on the route instead of an older bristol that they normally put on. talk about salt on the wound.

A dozen or so miles up the road in Lowestoft I see the Council are/have built some beach huts and are selling them for £30,000.

There's a bargain - I think not!

In the 60s we had a hut at Seaton you had to take it down in September and bring it back about Easter. It was still around in the early 2000s relocated to an allotment.

Don’t know why they won’t let people own them between Newburn Bridge to the Staincliffe stretch of promenade, guaranteed visitors once you own one.

yes, with that stink of cheap vinyl about them that never went away. never knew what was actually worse, driving one or being a passenger.

You’ve more or less summed up my driving history, last UK car was a Princess, but. Wolsey badged monster 2.2 top the range I acquired off a friend….. never really had any problems with it and excelled on the M11., but the next car was a VW, thought I’d go for German efficiency, bollocks, it was a delicate, moody money pit …… and then tried ….. a Datsun….. been driving one ever since, they just go.

had a honda accord for a couple of years but got rid due to the cost of insurance. saved nearly 300 quid a year when i swapped it for a 3 litre merc estate. Possibly jap cars are too reliable for insurance companies so they sting you with their premiums as they know they are popular.
