Makes a change from the normal games we get. Good to see we can attract a championship team here.

The only certainty is Tony Mowbray won't be managing either side

And now we have The Imps of Lincoln. Surprised they agreed after being turned over by Pools in the cup last season unless they want early season revenge?

There’s only Billingham Town I’d turn out for, ‘friendlies’ are something that have you wondering 10 minutes after kick off, what’s it all about?……. a fix for a football addict that helps them survive till the real thing returns.

Thats pretty much it for me, just needing that fix of footie after the summer although i'm actually looking forward to seeing Rovers and Lincoln as a nice change from the Smoggies and Makems that we normally get thumped off.

The preseason games are a warm welcome for me. Im usually broken up from work and holidaying on some greek isle. Radio on Poolside listening to a mucky mixture of first team trialists bang 10 past the dog and duck
Yeh it means feck all but should we have a new manager and players its an exciting time to see the new lads in action

Hope you are all well!

I joined up as I wanted to interact with some poolies and try and see how many would be likely attending on 9th July

Just a bit of a heads up though, the game is against Billingham Synthonia FC and not Billingham Town.

I'd like to hope quiet a decent amount, we took at least 100 to Billingham Town a few years back. Granted not sure if the slightly longer drive to Stokesley might put people off.

A few of my dad's friends played for Synners in the 80s-90s, hope you get back to Billy someday, huge shame losing Central Avenue.

Yeah still hurts, mate. Wish it didn't have to be that way but now we seem to be a yoyo club in terms of location going up and down the north east etc. We have various meetings taking place to hopefully get some land sorted but need to be patient

Really glad we got a friendly with Hartlepool United sorted and are looking for a decent crowd. The guy we dealt with from HUFC Stephen Hobin is such a cracking bloke, took a huge interest in our troubles. The game for HUFC is purely for fitness reasons but im so happy with the club to be coming down to play us. Nice to see a club care about the lower down non-league scene.

Went past Central Avenue before it got demolished a while back, gate open so walked in and took pictures, what a waste…..wonder what they’ll build on it.
On reflection, you don’t get employers like ICI anymore.
