So a bunch of blokes dress up as nurses to raise money for the NHS charities and the money is thrown back in their faces.
We Brits have always been able to make fools of ourselves and laugh at ourselves and that is now frowned upon........really?????
How can anyone even suggest that the lads who did it had any intention whatsoever of demeaning nurses or their profession.
Are we going to stop the pantomimes next???

Look out behind you has taken on a whole new meaning.

No PC issue for me. Someone could make a PC issue out of anything. The mime artists could be offensive to people who can’t speak, knights could be about the crusades, oompah lumpahs- dwarves. It’s just a bit of fun, don’t worry about it.
If anything, I thought you might have been meaning it was actually being PC by seeming to be sucking up to the NHS. It could therefore be taken as PC or not PC. Perfect decision then.

offending to me is a person who actually goes out to offend as there one and only reason for doing so. far different from having a bit of fun dressing up. if anyone dresses up as a nurse of the opposite sex so what. same as if a white person actually niggers up as a famous black musician. bloody stupid doing bob marley and louis armstrong as a pale face. could actually be construed as being racist by doing that as you are refusing the existance of black people.

Any crank offending by a end of season fancy dress piss up should disassociate themselves from a game of Football.

It’s harmless fun to 99.9999999% of the population but we have a twisted section of our society that’s really socially illiterate who see wrong in the most innocuous pleasures and scream their fantasy outrage from the rooftops of Twitter.
The miserable, chip on shoulder, demanding, sour faced social pariahs with the personality of a cheese grater can fuck right off and throw themselves of the nearest pier.

I agree Mr Accy. Social media has been an absolute godsend to all the narks, trolls, wind up merchants and general shit stirrers. But the NHS refusing to take money raised and given in good faith is taking it to a new level.

Trouble is nowadays, the out of touch politicians, big business and meeeeeeeja actually believe the self indulgent ramblings on social media actually represent the view of the public.
They need to start speaking to the real public not the demandingly dim but bitter activists who seem to catch their collective eyes causing them to respond to basically cobblers.
Who is most to blame, the online collective of oddballs or the people running things who pander to them.....?
If you want to know how the family feels you don’t listen solely to the tantrum toddler alone and act on it’s ‘advice’.

They will, but would put them in a worse light than those who they love. Remember the brexit debate where they always found remainers who put their case very elequantly and those who wanted to leave being quite the opposite. Know it did not work in the end, but there is no guarentee that the MSM will lose out again.

oh dear....."sexual objectification of women”

https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/2020/1 ... ppropriate

“If people want to play out the [sexy nurse] fantasy in private, that's their business,” Wade says. “But, even in 'normal,' pre-COVID times, it was harmful and disrespectful to exhibit this stereotype because it reinforces the 'woman as sexual object' idea that we’ve fought to conquer for decades. Not to mention, it diminishes the vital work that nurses do.”

“This costume is inappropriate at the best of times,” she adds. “And now, nurses are making so many other sacrifices, such as living away from family to protect their loved ones from virus exposure. They’re experiencing PTSD and increased levels of anxiety and depression at an unprecedented degree.”

“As much as I hate the sexy nurse costume, I usually wouldn’t feel the need to criticise someone wearing it,” Rice says. “But, this year, the least we can do is show a little respect.

......"show a little respect" ?

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news ... s-decided/

"This year we are wanting to pay tribute and say thank you to our wonderful NHS, who for the past couple of years have helped guide us through the covid pandemic, and are still working under severe stressful conditions. With this mind, we are delighted to announce the fancy dress theme will be Doctors and Nurses. With two years off due to the pandemic, this is an ideal time to bring back our fancy dress tradition and give those NHS staff the appreciation they deserve."

think she should start to preach at women themselves and the cosmetic companies. many spend a fortune on these plus cosmetic surgery. doubt its just to look good on the school run. many women i imagine like blokes looking at them and are prepared to splash the cash for them to continue to do so. women looking the best will always get the bloke of their choice whilst the rough tak end up being dumped. its back to wolf whistles again. some women i know including my partner were upset the day they stopped whistling.
